Today was a big day for me!

I just picked my Z up out of storage today and hauled it to the Kalamazoo, MI (Auto Dynamix) shop. Now this doesn't sound like that big of a deal; but, I haven't moved my car for nearly two years.

Why two years?

Well,

I was going to make a twin turbo low mount kit for the 370z but the market got saturated with kits at the price point I was going to aim for. The Z was pretty much tore apart at the time of other kits coming out so there it sat until I came up with the "good" idea to LS swap.

So here we are today:

Carbon Fiber Element is carbon fiber overlay. Finite Element Design is pure carbon fiber.

If you wait a while, 7AT trim ring will probably go up for sale. I might have to switch my gear lever to an Outlaw Gear Shifting Assembly.

SO....... I might have went full retard?

My buddy found a way to convert the OEM head studs to 1/2 inch. This will create additional clamping force so I wouldn't ever lift a head gasket.

Additionally we found a company to CNC port my heads at a great price.

Where do I draw the line? meh. F it. I'm already balls deep in this build.

Glad we could chat about this before I made another performance decision.:rofl2:

I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, I just found out that my smaller diameter head studs came in.... SO... I am going to focus on getting this b-otch together.

OK, got back out to the shop and put ARP head studs in. After that I spent about 4hrs working on getting valve springs in the head. Yup... 4hrs. They were quite the pain in the a$$. One of the valve springs is MIA because one of the retainers were not put in correctly and shot to the moon at light speed. I may have pooped my pants just a little.

I then got one head torqued down to spec so that measurements can be taken for pushrods.

With both heads on the engine, one not torqued down, I needed to see what a complete engine looked like... I've got to say, glorious! The hood will likely need cutting. Perhaps I can test some fabricating with carbon fiber. My Spec-V carbon fiber might go up for sale. :)

I'm sure you have this covered but are your lifters solid? I helped a friend do this with his LS RX7 swap and we ended up ordering the push rods longer than required. Once we started up and the hydraulic lifters he had got oil pressure we had to pull them out to remeasure and replace with shorter ones
