The brackets that came with the bar didn’t have zerk fittings?

No idea actually, I havent opened the box. If my memory is correct (which it often isnt), they do have the fittings on the factory ones also.

I could also not confirm about the factory ones. All I can say is I have them on mine. I assumed new brackets came with the bar but made not.

I have them.

Grease the area on the bar with your finger good before putting the rubber bushing in place.

I don't remember the stock ones having zerk fittings.

I Teflon taped mine too. Really helps with the squeaking. Oh and grease the things every time you are under it. Several people have broken end links. Number one cause is not greasing often enough.

Yet, I forgot that I wrapped mine too.

Teflon tape wrap first, then smear grease over the tape and inside the bushing. Then install the bushing over the tape.

It is a pain in the rear end, especially when life demands attention every 20 minutes. :icon17:

It depends on what you what to get out of it. Nice looking DD, A fast DD, Track rat, etc. But once you start. Sometimes things go sideways. :rofl2: Then you go down the rabbit.

The minimum suspension mod requirements to meet this requirement: front sway bar, FUCA, rear camber arms and coilovers. After that we will see you at the bottom of the rabbit hole.:tiphat:

Still need to do passenger side. I have a brand new pack of discs for the grinder and I cant find them. I tore everything in the garage and basement apart looking for them. Will have to see if I can find some locally today.
EW complains about me not letting him help work on the car so I'll have to let him give me a hand when it comes time to riveting the vents in place. :icon17:

I recommend a reamer on those cut edges. I have a cheap one that works wonders. You going to coat the cut edge with something?

I have a sheet metal deburr tool that I will break the edges with. Yes to coating the edges. Not sure what to use. I need to stroll about the paint aisle at the parts store.

You could cold galvanize it. They sell it in a spray can at Home of Pot. I just spray some of it in a disposable cup and brush it on.

Be careful with where you set the cup down. It eats thru a solo plastic cup of you just leave it sitting there.

old guy 02-17-2019 04:21 PM

Mad that looks great ! Is there going to be a center vent? I think it looks good without it. :twocents: :icon14:

He will help rivet them in place. I had a really busy day scheduling appointments and a funeral. I popped into the garage while it was above freezing to knock the hole out real quick.

madwi 02-22-2019 07:41 AM

These are going to be fun to line up and cut out.
