At full height like that, there shouldn't be any problem with head clearance unless your wife is exceptionally tall.

I would suggest removing the ramps when it's in storage height just to be safe. Also, it seems your garage door is in the way; mine was too and I had a friend reposition the tracks so the door now hugs the ceiling at 1/4" clearance. The opener was changed to jackshaft-drive type which facilitates a wider ceiling cut-out opening.

Good points I'm going to have to look into the door going higher. Thabks!

It is a little oversized. it's 23 feet wide by 26 feet long for the main area. Then it continues on another 15 feet by 8 feet wide on the right side where I keep a big tool box and my reloading bench. Sp technically the right side is 38 feet deep. 11.5 foot ceiling. Most of it has old carpet remnants through it and I keep it clean and organized. Nice to have my own space

I got a 5 lbs garage with 20 lbs of crap in it. If things work out. I'll have a 30'x30' built in the back yard in the next year or 2.

I'm in the same boat. Everything is fitting within a few inches of clearance. Garage door in retracted position to the nose of the car on the lift, roof of car to the lift underside, rear bumper of car on lift to back wall is measured in less than one inch, one side tires of car on lift to the lift itself, hood of car to ceiling.

Hell, even the truck fits in the garage with 2" to the wall and under 2" to the garage door. The truck headlight sits only about 3" or less from the lift reservoir. Left side truck OSRV mirror has to be folded when driving into garage and the right side clears the lift column by 2-3".

Parking a car under the lift requires finesse or right side OSRV mirror would scrape. Each car must be perfectly placed under the lift or it will bump, scrape, or damage an immovable object inside the garage. I also have to be on top of snow removal so driveway is free of ice, so the vehicle being "loaded" into the garage doesn't spin its rear tires and send its side kissing and crunching the garage door framework since clearance is mere few inches on both sides.

Each vehicle has an assigned parking stop. Misplaced or setting the stop for a wrong vehicle means pseudo disaster of various consequences. If one (or more) of those bolts or nuts holding the lift lock plate failed or one of the cables snapped, it would make for a very very bad day in a blink of an eye. Imagining one makes me cringe and shudder.

Your garage is twice the size of mine. It's a one car from 1949. I would show you a picture of my Z in it, but it won't fit until I get everything out of there.

I have one foot on either side of the garage door and about 4 feet from the nose to the wall when I finally get it in.
