If you have not already, post onto the Texas region section and you'll be able to find out who is coming up from Texas this year. There is usually a group that does travel up.

If you already have reservations you can not take advantage of the offer unfortunately, but if you have not made reservations I'd say give them a call and see if you can save some cash.

with your extensive experience on the dragon and my minimal experience, I was thinking I may steal you for a run. just see if you can spot areas to improve and whatnot. that is if weather cooperates unlike last years never ending rain when I had time to run the dragon. also i'm going a day early this year and will be arriving early Wednesday not Thursday.

Well it's been 2 years for me, so the first few runs I'll be getting reacquainted with the road, also in a completely different car this time lol. If you're getting down there earlier in the week, I'll probably do some more scouting runs solo to get a feel for the car and how she behaves, especially through quick transition corners.

Steve is probably the better person to consult though. He's like Vettel out there lololol :stirthepot:

maybe Wednesday we can all go out for run whenever I get there and drop my stuff off/unload the Z

I do well out there so far but I figured following a few people with much more experience I can pick up some knowledge.

Fast group runs in the morning, so if you want to follow be at the general store by 7am sharp.

The dragon is clear every morning around 7AM. You will be able to get clear, fast runs in on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings if you go early.

Z1NONLY leads the fast group. Everyone kind of sorts themselves out after the first run and lines up in order of speed.

Will anybody be there the last week of May? I have a conflict and won't be able to make the actual ZdayZ event but want to drive the dragon and check out attractions in that area so I might drive down there the last week of May.

Unlikely...but you might enjoy it more that way. You'll have the roads and the resort (more or less) to yourself and the weather should be fine. Just ask some of the vets (like Steef) for tips - it's funny out there, and you even need to be aware of where you can refuel, buy groceries, and get beer (though that's not much of a concern for you :p).

It's funny because I'm usually arguing to be up front in the MAZOC cruises. Just don't want to slow people down while I'm getting familiar with the Dragon, but I should be ok after a few runs.
