The Stillen swaybar also made a noticeable difference. I'm thinking maybe just do HFCs and call it done for a while (I might be kidding myself). Sealed the paint today and topped off with some Collinite 845. |

I just pop the plastic rivets on the front end finisher assembly, pull it off, reach down, and remove the block-off plate. Attaches with Velcro. It takes less than two minutes.

Excellent.. good stuff man. Let me know if you have any questions as to when you should apply it.. I've pretty much tested the waters with it.

What oil cooler did you get? I have a 34 row from Z-1. I am interested in making a block plate. Did you take any pictures of yours?

And FYI, H20 - I disagree with EW on the whole "when" put the plate on. If you arent on the track, you may as well cover it up almost completely at all times, with the exception of summer. Then you can probably rock 50% coverage or so. But winter, should be 100% coverage, period.

As for how much to cover and when to uncover, you may well be correct. |

Me personally, from what I've seen, If your oil temp is atleast 170 degrees, you're good. Even with the block off plate on or off, and driving on the highway at 55 degrees or more (outside temperature). You should be anywhere from 170 to 180 degrees, all day. Right now, Bobo, you're right, the block off plate should be on. But my general rule of thumb is to watch your oil temp when your block off plate is off.

Here's a Monday laugh for you:
Has anyone chipped their car? If so, mind giving me and reddit some feedback? : Autos Guy claims Gforce chip added 50whp in proven dyno gains to his "buddy's car"

the grand prix is a very different car than the Z keep in mind. The Z is a sports car and will not have this same issue. Now is the specific product gforce any good? I don't know. Last edited by 4r3s; 01-13-2014 at 10:41 AM. |

Doc, glad you are enjoying the swaybar
![]() On the chip topic, see the gains on BMW inline 6s or the year to year increases for most other cars. We don't see gains on the Z because the VQ is already stretched to the limit. |
