My parents don't know about all my driving shenanigans and I'd like to keep it like that if I can. Though at this point, I don't know if they even care anymore....

Nope. They do know about the Lamborghini thing though. I might just tell them I'm going to the track this month. I don't want them to worry too much, like they always do. Took me 6 months to convince them to even let me buy a sports car

I'm still going to the track no matter what, just a matter of whether I tell them what I'm actually doing or not. I'm pretty sure they won't care at this point, but what they don't know won't hurt them.

Also, I'm in the process of convincing them to help pay for the house so I don't want to upset them too much

You can bring your own helmet. If it doesn't meet their requirements they have helmets too that you can use.
