The impact of the Simpsons was huge, though. It was Fox's biggest hit. Without it, we probably wouldn't have South Park, Family Guy, and a slew of other successful adult themed cartoons.

That may well be, doesn't mean it doesn't need to be given a good death nevertheless.

I didn't say the show isn't long in the tooth and in need of an end, just that it should be appreciated for what it once was
