Just so ya know, the Stig generally uses the Simpson Diamondback.

He wears a bunch of the simpson helmets (including the bandit and the diamond) some with custom visors that aren't offered through their website.

How do you fit helmets anyway without trying it on? They seem to have very specific sizes.

You need to measure your head first then look at the helmet size's chart to see which one better fits you. I will put mine on tonite driving home to see if it gets better or not and I will return it for a bigger size

Damn, I got the first 45 min driving home with helmet, couldn't take it anymore, it hurt my head so bad. I have to exchange for a bigger size.

Yeah, you need to go bigger then. Should hit a motorcycle shop up and get sized up there - would have saved you some time. While it's not 100% accurate for every helmet, it at least gives you a good starting point.

Different manufacturers make helmets in different head shapes and it's hard to know what fits without trying stuff on. I went to a bike shop and walked around for several minutes while wearing different helmets. It was enormously helpful.

I buy my gloves, helmets, fluids, track pads etc, from OG Racing in Dulles, VA, near the Rt. 606 Old Ox Road commuter Bus Lot. You can check out their store at: OG Racing

If you call them, ask for Brian, as he is a track guy and has good recommendations. They have a lot of helmets in stock and you can try them on there to see if they fit your monstrous head. Hey, if they can fit my mellon, they can fit anyones! They have closeouts on SA 2005 helmets, as they will only be useable at formal events (HPDE etc) until 2015. They also have a wide selection of SA 2010 helmets in stock. Those will be good through 2020, so if you are going to track day events for a while, it could be worth it.

Good luck.

Longer, in reality. SA10 didnt even hit the shelves until early/mid 2012, so it should be good until 2022 or so. This is the norm, generally - my SA00 was usable in 2011.
