Which model do you have? I have the excelon x896 which is alright.

eastwest2300 04-05-2013 08:16 PM

KDC-X897 I believe its the upgrade to the one you have, have you seen it? its pretty tight.

m4a1mustang 04-05-2013 08:24 PM

Never have. I know I just wanted something better than the terrible stock unit and speakers.

Yeah I feel you on that, my biggest thing was the rear usb and being able to route it to my center console/pocket thingy for my iPod.. for road trips, i like to let the ipod play all my songs from A to Z..I think I only made it the letter C for this road trip, and thats there an back.:icon17:

chieuxuan 04-05-2013 10:11 PM

I'll have to skip the meat tomorrow, sorry guys

eastwest2300 04-05-2013 10:12 PM

Its probably gonna be only a handful of people there. I think that cruise is tomorrow.

MightyBobo 04-05-2013 10:14 PM

I'm going to neither. Homework day.

Sent from my Galaxy S3

m4a1mustang 04-05-2013 10:15 PM

There are only a few people going on the cruise. Ron is the only MD guy I know of that is going so you may still have a good showing.

eastwest2300 04-05-2013 10:18 PM

Im getting up and running 5 miles, I've slacked off long enough.

dmhenderson 04-05-2013 10:41 PM

Eh. If no one is going it's a long drive for me.

I'll go running, hit the gym and then clay the car.

b1adesofcha0s 04-06-2013 12:06 AM

I'll be recovering from all my gymming and lack of sleep from this past week by sleeping in till like noon :p

Probably gonna wash the Z and go look at some houses later in the day.

eastwest2300 04-06-2013 07:25 AM

I completely detailed the inside and outside of the s2000. Damn Nismo and her dog hair, a total pain in the azz.

But the Mazoc Mascot must ride in style!!!

And yes, I can sympathize. Arrow never saw the inside of my Z, yet the interior had his hair all over it, via my clothing. :shakes head:

eastwest2300 04-06-2013 07:47 AM

It's soooo much bullsh1t...

ZCarMan 04-06-2013 04:41 PM

Pat and I spent the day up near Al's home turf. She washed the Abarth and I detailed it this morning and then we drove to Annapolis for an early lunch, then up past Baltimore and Dundalk and spent the afternoon in Havre De Grace.

A small historic town where the oldest continuous operating lighthouse in the U.S. is. All of 32ft high it was built in 1827. Havre De Grace was also where British forces came ashore and burned about half of the town down in the War of 1812. Nice boardwalk, small museum. A good place to spend an afternoon if you didn't have anything else planned.

I wish I could take credit for the photo but that is one from the internet. Although it looked pretty much the same today as the weather was pretty nice.

It was Pat and Jon quality time today. ;) However, we did wonder how far we were from you guys as we drove over the Key bridge by Sparrows Point. Funny thing about Bethlehem Steel and Sparrows Point is that the first ship I served on in the Navy was built there and I had never been there. It was sad to see that huge steel plant rusting away there.

dmhenderson 04-06-2013 05:08 PM

I am still....detailing the car. So far I've done:
Wash
Clay
Wash
Swirl&haze corrector + deep swirl& hand polish

I'm gonna call it a day and just do the glaze/wax tomorrow. My back is freaking killing me.

eastwest2300 04-06-2013 05:15 PM

It sounds like you had an awesome day Jon.. I washed the Z, and used my Dr. Colorchip on the rear bumper for a few spots, AND I mounted my MAZOC decals on both cars, I did something different than the norm, yall will have to see. I like it.

eastwest2300 04-06-2013 05:17 PM

Ohh I also installed the bluetooth connection in the s2000..now that sh1t is tight!

Didn't even get finished. The double layer of swirl/haze + hand polish takes forever to dry and I guess it's too cold in the garage. No idea why they have you do it that way but it works. The hood is as smooth as a baby's butt after clay + paint correction. Really looks fantastic.

dmhenderson 04-06-2013 05:50 PM

Tomorrow: Finish haze removal. Glaze, wax, sonax+wax on wheels and some tire dressing and I should be good to go.

Most things you do are outside the norm. :icon17:

Probably less than 5 minutes from us :)

Sales@AAMComp 04-06-2013 07:31 PM

dm what are you using for swirl/haze correction?

I need to get a porter cable or some kind of machine, it always seems like a hand job (no pun intended) doesn't quite get the job done. Would make sense a machine can cut the paint much better, but I'm always afraid of burning the paint or messing it up even more lol

eastwest2300 04-06-2013 07:35 PM

If you're using a machine, like a buffing machine, you want to constantly keep the machine moving, meaning you dont want to buff the same spot for a long duration of time...when you do buff an area for a long time, thats how you fvck up your sh1t.

At that price I'd rather get a Lambo/Ferrari
