They have no reason to move on the price. Its still early in the month and you actually made the trip all the way there. The fact that you made the trip says to them that you are willing to buy at the current price. If you weren't happy with the price you should have never set foot in their shop. I have a feeling you are digging yourself into a hole here. They've got you by the balls, already talking a second car when you don't even like the price on the first. Walk away. Need to separate your emotions for the vehicles and walk away. They will call you in a week or two to continue negotiating.

Walking away is a good tactic, don't get me wrong, but an educated buyer is their worst nightmare. If you KNOW the direct competitors to the vehicle you'd like to purchase, and specific details as to WHY they are a potential purchase to you, they cant refute that. Knowing competitor pricing, horsepower, handling, practicality, and gas mileage are easy points to learn. I'd rather walk into a Nissan dealership and say, "I'd like to buy a 370Z - give me a good reason why I should give you $34000 of my dollars for a 330 horsepower 2-seater sports car, versus $30000 for a 2+2 "sports" car with north of 400 horsepower and it even has a real trunk?" Make it impossible to argue against you without conceeding their price. At that point, you may as well say, "How about we start at Invoice pricing, and we'll go from there". If you can't get invoice pricing, you may as well walk. Competition is stiff for the Z right now.

NO DEALER HAS EVER HAD ME BY THE BALLS.. i cant count how many times iv walked out of a dealership or told off a sales manager.. i never allow myself to get pushed around.. if u met me you would understand my personality wouldnt allow that to happen.. just aske the people who have met me from on here.. im what most would consider aggressive... ![]() anyway to make a long story longer i wasted a total of 6 hours of my time. i got them down a lot while i was there but not to where i wanted to be. so after dealing with all the managers i told them thanks but i wont buy for that price.. so u know how close the deal ws.. i wanted a 2013 sprt 6speed z for 31k i got them down to 32,500. most would have jumped at it. but when i set a price i dont break it.. i have amazing self control, and i never let myself get emotionaly involved.. i walk into all dealers with the mind set that i will walk at any point and time.. there is always another dealer with a car i would want.. its just a matter of finding one who will do what it takes to make the sale... |

I have to say after that I have no problem going to Anacostia now. I have a friend that bought a house there (WHYYY) so sometimes I pick her up or drop her off. She literally runs from car to her door.
Though that was with the Benz and the Mustang which could have been viewed as more drug-dealery cars than the S2K. Haven't tried with it yet.
