The impact of the Simpsons was huge, though. It was Fox's biggest hit. Without it, we probably wouldn't have South Park, Family Guy, and a slew of other successful adult themed cartoons.

Uh, the simpsons was an animated short off of the Tracy Ulman show (which was terrible). Their original hits were Married with Children, 21 Jump Street, In Living Color, and some Werewolf show. Fox really took off once they got football - which was a huge coup at the time.

Simpsons still have some good episodes from time to time, but they are coming fewer and farther in between these days.

I had a bart simpson shirt at some point when I was a kid. It's 99.99% unfunny at this point but it still makes me chuckle now and then.

Married and Living Color were what "launched" fox. Then Rupert Murdoch paid an asston of money for football and they became a major player. |

Animated prime-time shows hadn't been seen since the flintstones because they were so goddamned expensive to make. |
