They've had a Huracan and a McLaren 650S show up to their weekly meets, hoping to check those out in person.

eastwest2300 03-31-2015 02:10 PM

that would be cool...

Would anyone be interested in going to the 3rd Anniversary Meet for Hunt Valley Horsepower on Sat April 4th? It's supposed to be the MD equivalent of Katie's C&C and some amazing cars there from pics I've seen on FB. I know I did just recently say that I'm not into these big car meets but this group seems to have a lot of nice and new exotics show up that would be cool to see. We could probably go here in the morning and still make it to the Columbia meet by 10:30. I'm planning on going and checking it out.

Hunt Valley Horsepower's 3rd Anniversary

Do it on a week night or just rock the winter setup. Don't think anyone will really care.

Or dont be a slacker and use dat garage of yours.

4r3s 04-01-2015 03:10 PM

Would be a lot easier with a double wide garage. Single car is pretty tight in there.

but point taken....

I like it tight.

If it makes you feel better, I did a motor swap in a 240SX in an apartment single-car garage once...that was fun.

Kirkster 04-03-2015 07:42 AM

Currently looks like rain tomorrow...

Viktoriia 04-03-2015 12:45 PM

whos going to hunt valley tho?

4r3s 04-03-2015 01:03 PM

I'll be ripping the bumper off to recharge the cai filters tonight and swapping out the winter shoes tomorrow. If I don't do it this weekend it wont be done for another month. I'm too lazy to bother on a weeknight...

just bc you can doesnt mean its a good idea or that you should

I live alone, if something goes wrong at night inside my garage I'm done. If something goes wrong and the car falls on me in the driveway there is at least a slightly higher chance of surviving and having a neighbor calling for help. I guess I'm paranoid.

b1adesofcha0s 04-03-2015 01:47 PM

I'll be going to Hunt Valley in the morning. Probably gonna skip Columbia though.

eastwest2300 04-03-2015 01:55 PM

Hey do you have the address for that hunt valley meet?

Depends what you're working on though. Swapping wheels and recharging the CAI is pretty low risk for hurting yourself that badly.

The cai recharge is a non issue but I believe any time you rely on a couple of jack stands in between the ground and the car to prevent 3500 lbs from falling on any part of your body is absolutely a high risk exercise. When you become complacent is when you have accidents. I'd prefer to keep all my bits and pieces no matter how vital they are.

It's from 8-10 AM. Katie's C&C in Great Falls, VA is the one that starts at 7 AM.

Had a great time at the Hunt Valley meet this morning and saw some awesome cars. Went for a mini-cruise with my cousin afterwards and that was a lot of fun. Some pics I took below. You really missed out on some pretty sick cars Dee!

Hey All,
I just wanted to put this out there so that everyone can keep a look out. Acquaintance on Facebook had his rims stolen off of his GTR. Keep a look out!

"Stolen from my house last night in Germantown, MD:

2013 Stock 20in GT-R wheels with Michelin 285 Pilot Sport tires on all four."

But if you get there at 7AM, the parking spots are mostly taken. Last year, I got there at around 6:30 and had to park around the corner. Which is fine really.

Wheel locks wont stop a determined thief. They wont care about some slightly scuffed wheels...

Also, I'd be willing to bet he had the house before the car. Furthermore, judging by the size of those houses, that's an 1800-2000 sq. ft. townhouse, very likely, which is probably fairly pricey in that area.

Not so easy to just uproot where you live just because you bought a car, and you shouldn't HAVE to, in reality. But thieves will be thieves.

Certainly. And I love having a garage, regardless of where I live lol. I hated having my Z parked outside, but thankfully it was protected by armed guards, literally.

Yeah that's not too bad. The few times I've went I got there around 7 and got to park out front. Guess those were just slow days then.

I wonder how long it will be before he invests in a tilt sensor car alarm? That pains me to see a GTR sitting like that.

I'd call it shrewd, not paranoid. Just let someone know what you're doing. Better still, bribe someone with beer to come spot you.

And you don't have to get under the car to swap the wheels :p

hey jpkirk, you going to this AAM event this saturday?
