No, I don't think so. I've seen the GT wing and it's big and silly looking but blends with the car better than that.

Also like I said. The car belongs to a very well known shop. Pretty sure they have a bit more experience than any of on here...
Interesting, because the only thing I find returns on for "proper tire stretch" is Volkswagon, Toyota, and StanceWorks results. Considering the scene that follows stupid tire stretch, this is exactly as I expected.

You supply your sources, I'll buy it. Until then, stretched tires are the dumbest idea ever, best left to people who want to look herrafrush. Also, Nankang tires still blow, and I'd put MONEY that if you asked them, they would admit that those tires are just for show. Being from a shop means absolutely nothing to me, especially if they built it purely to flex their horsepower pen1s and do smokey burnouts...that ought to be particularly easy on some crappy stretched Nankangs

Ill agree with you on the brand of tires being horrible but the rest is honest. I guess ill just have to prove more points when I run square 275's stretched.

Yeah I dunno. I wouldn't show it with those tires on it but that's just me. For all I know they were doing ~sick burnouts~ with those tires 5 minutes after that picture was taken so they may well serve a purpose.

In other news: I have sent up emergency flares to every single car-related group I belong to on facebook and twitter looking for Nismo RC front brake ducts. Bulletproof told me "lol no" because there were so few RC cars made. Car Love DC has taken up the cause for me so I have hope yet. Further bulletins as events warrant.

It took me 2 minutes to find 2 very good threads...Some of the info isn't 100% correct but it mostly is.

Slightly stretched tires = stiffer sidewalls? - Scion FR-S Forum | Subaru BRZ Forum | Toyota 86 GT 86 Forum | AS1 Forum - FT86CLUB

Do stretched tires compromise grip/handling? - R3VLimited Forums

There is a reason Formula D cars run stretched rears. They want the most grip possible in the rear and the front to be loose. Im sure a few of you will think im bullshiting that last bit but...I cant find it now but there is a whole video on youtube from Drive talking about a 350z drifter with 700whp running 0 camber and stretched tires on the rear.

"K&N Cold Air Intake" - This is a shop car?

This is a show car man. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not meant to actually go fast. It's meant to look cool.

Cody/Steve anyone else reading this, if you have any idea where I can chase down those RC ducts please let me know. Usually things like this happen because someone knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who does a thing etc so any help would be appreciated.

I thought I had this locked down a week ago and the two solid leads I had evaporated :/

I really wanted to get those things installed prior to P&S

OK, but we are talking about the wheels and tires on the car RIGHT NOW.

Those are absolute junk, and that was my point. You were defending that these tires are actually great tires and the stretch is totally optimal. We never talked about running multiple sets of wheels/tires.

Regardless, I want to meet this owner, and I'm going to ask him what his best times were at Summit Point in THIS CAR, and I'll wager to guess he'll chuckle and say, "No, this is just for show man".

But, if you decide to rock some stretched tires like he's running, and then think you're going to hit the track like that, tell me how that goes at the tech inspection

You posted up a thread on some forum I'd never even heard of, posted by a fully stanced out VW. Right.

Also, a Scion FR-S forum by someone who was clueless, and the person who responded replied back with saying that the tire that'd fit a 7.5" wheel optimally COULD fit an 8" wheel. I can BUY that, because that's such a mild stretch, you could confuse it for OEM. But we arent talking a tire that's designed to fit a 9.5-10" wheel, stretched over a 12" wheel.

I'm trying to save you headache here, because if you truly intend to HPDE on stretched tires, it's not going to go well for you.
