Hopefully... Running out of time to do all of these things, and it sucks because daylight is something I already run on limited quantities of. :icon17:

It's dark out now, or I would take some for you. I'll be at the AAM meet this weekend if you can make it and wanna take a look.

If your looking for a camera for your 2010, I highly recommend Brian's kit (forum sponsor). It's totally plug and play and he has a great bypass kit that is available with the kit.

m4a1mustang 05-01-2013 08:05 PM

I changed my oil today. I suppose if I bleed the brakes tomorrow I may yet make it out to the AAM meet.

That's pretty costly, and labor intensive... :ugh2:

I like that it has the steering wheel input lines though. Those are a plus.

dmhenderson 05-01-2013 08:23 PM

One of the reasons I traded in my 09 for the 12 was that rear view mirror camera.
What does it cost to install that instead of something aftermarket>

I had just looked at the vendor section and was getting ready to ask you for this info. Good anticipation! Thanks again!

I bought my cam for $21 through ebay.

$5 for the crimp/splice connectors.

Did the install myself, tap into 3 wires, run wire to HU, change the proper settings in HU, and you're done.

Yeah that's a better deal than say...buying the nissan kit or an entire new car.

For sure. Hardest part of the install is pulling the console apart.

I don't mind paying for a quality kit that is completely plug and play and contains everything you need.

Definitely not labor intensive. Did the install on my own in the garage. A few hours to install everything including the bypass kit. I used the remote bypass and then programmed the home link buttons to control the bypass functions. Its really a slick setup.

Not denying the potential quality, but this is just the same.

Few hours vs one.

Is that the "factory" cam that comes with tourings/homelink mirrors? Or an aftermarket one with the OEM software?

I can take the entire dash and center console down to the e-brake assembly in my sleep but I've had an unhealthy relationship with my car's electrical system.

Then this would literally take you a half hour. :icon17:

Now I know who to look for when I get tired of the Bose :happydance:

Its an aftermarket, but its a quality camera.

I like the bypass a lot. Opens up all of the functions while driving and hit the home link button while driving and the camera is on. Useful in heavy traffic.

I could do this as well with my rear view, and HU, if I had the rear view wired to a constant +12v source instead of the reverse lights source.

The Kenwoods are good cams, but expensive. :icon17:

I seriously can't think of a single person in this subforum who annoys me enough to put them on ignore. I mean if I'm not ignore-worthy, who is???

Seriously? You're pretty low-key, man.

I've tried the "ignore" thing, but, depending on the frequency of posting by those on your ignore list you may just end up with a **** ton of grey rectangles and then see whatever they said in a quote in someone's response. Not worth it. I'm capable of disregarding individuals as necessary. I mean, I'm used to annoying people in real life and there's no ignore button for that, so I just deal.

dmhenderson 05-02-2013 09:29 AM

Yeah I'm with you. I ignore people irl on a daily basis without the benefit of an ignore button ;)
