That reminds me, I really should look into getting a good, large fan for my garage, just to get air circulating...

That would be a good idea considering how hot it has been for the past couple of days. Also, if you want to do it after work someday this week that would be fine too. Saturday morning would give us the most time to work on it though.

If we did that, then Friday after work would be fine, but I recommend we just do it EARLY Saturday morning. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it's going to take a good bit of time to wait for that damned caliper paint to dry.

Also, you'll want to get some painters tape, and a roll of brown painters paper, or plastic to mask off your car. Get a big plastic drop-cloth and we can tape off the whole area around your wheel wells and not get any overspray anywhere...

What time do you mean when you say EARLY? I'm thinking like 10 AM would be a good start time.

Also, why do we need to mask off/cover the car when we're taking the calipers off to painting them? We have to take them off anyway to put the new brake pads in.

Oh, right, I forgot yours have to come off haha. I keep thinking you have the sport package for some reason.

Yeah, good point, we should be ok. Although, PART of the caliper will be staying on the hub - you planning on just leaving that silver? The majority will be getting painted....

Oh you mean the part on the bottom in this pic (closer to the rotor)? Well I want to have that painted as well. Is it difficult to take off or would we be better off painting that part while it's still mounted on the hub?

the whole caliper assembly comes off with just two bolts, I just did this over the weekend to put the spacers on. Everything you're going to want to paint will be off the rotor. You will have to deal with brake fluid though, luckily I didn't have to mess with that.

Awesome, thanks! Yeah I'm swapping out the brake fluid for Motul RBF600 so no way to avoid messing with it

Well if we disconnect the brake lines, its going to be not-so-fun to change the brake fluid. The other part is fairly easy to remove with a little effort - really tight bolts...but the caliper itself, we should leave connected to its brake line or we'll be bleeding for a while lol.

Ok, I guess I'll get some stuff to mask it off then. How big of a plastic drop cloth should I get?
