Not so bad dude, keeping busy.

As for all you Maryland boys..... You might of been following the "Woollard Case" regarding the Conceal Carry in MD.

The Judge has ruled that the regulations enforced in MD are unconstitutional

You can read more, and FAQ, at the "Maryland Shall Issue" website.

The Woollard Decision FAQs - Maryland Shall Issue® | Maryland Shall Issue®

As long as it's not overturned or dragged out for years with appeals, expect to see (or not see ;)) us MD boys packing our CCW permits soon :yum:

I was out today. My buddy and I took his Bobcat over the last couple of weeks over at his place and built a berm. We finished up today and hung the targets. Put a lot of rounds downrange, blew up several pounds of Tannerite (that stuff is a hoot).

http://SSEquine.net/targetstands.jpg

We also had to put of about 30 of these downrange. He abuts state land and a lot of people tend to wander off because of some trails back there.

Exactly! We built that berm with dirt from an old compost heap (manure pile).

eastwest2300 04-29-2012 10:53 PM

hahaha.... dude, sooo yall made your own berm, dude, thats cool as hell.

VaGntlmn 04-30-2012 06:39 PM

now that's more like it!!!

m4a1mustang 04-30-2012 07:39 PM

It's warmed up a bunch so my focus has shifted back to cars.

Mac, that's a nice range!

eastwest2300 04-30-2012 07:52 PM

I wish we could just build a range and shoot, haaaaaa, not here in the communist nation of maryland..

MacCool 04-30-2012 08:37 PM

The range is right next to my buddy's corral. He's trying to get his horses used to gunfire. His dream, apparently, is hunting from horseback...roaming his property with his .45 Colts (Ruger SASS) and his Henry rifle. I don't share the goal...I'll take the 4-wheeler.

MightyBobo 04-30-2012 08:44 PM

What's better than finding a $20 in your pocket you forgot about?

Finding 150 unspent rounds you forgot you had.

VaGntlmn 04-30-2012 09:35 PM

Anybody have any recent dealings with Palmetto?
Just placed an order - I'll let you know how they do.

I order ammo from them all the time. Never a problem, although I note that the prices are going up as we run up to the election. In Feb I paid $300, in March I paid $325, and the stuff I just ordered was $350 (1000 RDS of .223).

VaGntlmn 05-01-2012 06:57 AM

^^ Thanks.
That's not surprising based on the fact that guns are selling like hotcakes as well.

m4a1mustang 05-01-2012 07:00 AM

Liberals... gun dealers best friends. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say a lot of folks on the left get kickbacks from the gun industry. :p

ouch... I cant afford that. :shakes head:

eastwest2300 05-02-2012 01:21 AM

And, I dont shoot enough to be spending hundreds of dollars on ammo. The State of Maryland wants to charge you an arm and a leg to use rifle ranges.. its bullsh1t.

As I've mentioned previously, I go through a lot of ammo over the course of a year. Probably even more now that I have a range just a mile or two from my house. I usually like to keep 8000-10000 rounds of .223 around the place at any given time. I'm not a "prepper", but I do tend to stockpile a little more if it looks like ammo prices are going to rise for awhile, as appears to be the case these days.

m4a1mustang 05-02-2012 09:54 AM

Not prepping, just hedging!

m4a1mustang 05-02-2012 10:49 PM

Or a room. Shouldn't take up tooo much space.

Yep, doesn't take up that much space, it will all fit under your bed... (so I'm told)

And when O'Bumbler gets re-elected and the riots start, you'll be kicking yourself when you have't stocked up :tiphat:

I don't know about riots, but it's likely that we'll see price increases as we run up to the election, especially if polling looks like Obama is getting the edge. My reason for acquiring ammo in excess of my immediate needs is to have enough around to carry me beyond any likely price fluctuations and buy again when prices drop back down, assuming that they will (as they did 4 years ago). Admittedly, that may be pointless since there's no guarantee that any gun/ammo restriction or ban Obama may initiate will include a grandfather clause, but I am hopeful (and reasonably sure) that we won't see the "authorities" coming around to confiscate our ammo or guns. If they do, then I'd have to reconsider my concerns about riots. Generally, however, I'm not a believer in all the SHTF/EOTWAKI scenarios. Those "prepper" fantasies don't play a role in my firearms/ammo acquisitions.

Status Update:
Order Placed Monday night, received most of it Friday, and the rest is scheduled to be delivered Monday.
Seemed to take a long time to "process" the order, but still not bad.

a) I'm surprised the board(s) didn't break.
b) How many of you "store ammo out in the open" like this? It's just my wife and I in the house and my ammo is locked in a fire safe.

m4a1mustang 05-06-2012 05:05 PM

I just keep my ammo in bins to keep it dry.

Yeah, that's about the limit for that particular shelf. It's in a warm storage room off the garage. That's about an average amount of stored ammo for the guys I shoot with.

I think i'm going to pick up one of those S&W Bodyguard 380's. Looks like a nice carry and something the wife can get familiar with.
