I'll admit, that portion of Interstate does make you want to speed. (It was 55MPH when they first opened it) But did you notice the dead deer on the shoulder down at the 9mm? That was the level portion just before you started up the first major grade.

We get some bad deer and bear wrecks up there. I'm not saying that's what set the speed limit, but man do we get some bad animal strikes. They called me for one on a Saturday morning near the 10mm, female bear and 3 cubs all killed! The interstate looked like a freakin' slaughter house for several hundred yards! Then there was the time the crotch-rocket and the deer collided..........
I can imagine the animal collisions would be bad! Especially with the amount of wilderness you guys have out there. VA mountains are nothing!

I was looking through some of the pics I was snapping as we were cruising down 26 and that Impala was in a few as he was passing us. I remember seeing him coming up quickly... I thought he was an unmarked cruiser until he made it by us... 86 in a 60 sounds just right!

I'm glad you guys had a safe trip. If you come back through again PM me. I'll either join in with our 370 if I'm off, or meet up with you guys if I'm working!
