Crowbar, baseball bat, wrench?

Well in Georgia we are allowed to carry our guns

and I have a firearms license which allows me to carry it on my persons (or anywhere else in my car) even if I get pulled over.

Sorry that in NY your sling shot must be in a Ziplock bags and stored under the hood.

It is better to follow the law (with legal firearms) than drive around like a teenager with a baseball bat.

Touché on the slingshot under the hood in a case used to carry nuclear warheads.

However a good metal extension of ones arm never hurt [oh the pun] to quickly calm someone who decides to come at you with fists down

I don't have a problem fighting someone with a crowbar,metal extension they are only going to get to swing it once.

That's why guns come in handy if somebody feels frisky.

I'm not a lawyer, but using a wrench or bat on someone who is trying to punch you sounds like a recipe for legal disaster.

The goal of having something like that on you is to avoid having to use it at all as soon as the other person realizes you actually do have one on your person.

IMNSHO, the rule-of-thumb is to NOT show your weapon until the instant before you use it. Forewarned is forearmed; it only escalates the situation; &c. YMMV

I do not carry weapons in my car except for guns when traveling to/from the range and then they are in the hatch area and all but impossible to get to from the cabin. I avoid places where I think it might be necessary to carry a weapon. I usually carry a pocket knife, but I wouldn't know how to use it in a fight. I suppose I could give you a nasty cut if I threw one of my CDs at you.
