Morning all. Reading up on DSLRs. I think that's going to be my next expense. I've the car pretty much where I want and now really want to purchase some equipment that has the capability of showing it off better than my iPhone. :)

One of my favorite movies. If you get a chance to watch it, notice how high the noses are on the cars! My Z is lower to the ground.

Good Morning all! :hello:

Last post until I get back from Disney World next weekend.

Have a safe and fun weekend, and a great next week!

gurney out! :tiphat:

Rain made me sleep longer than usual, now I'm running late.

Morning!
Shooting squirrels on the bird feeder this morning. Not using the 70-200 f/4L this time around.

Morning!

I'm extra tired for some reason, probably because it's so cold here all of the sudden (cold air = sleepy for me).

I have to admit, I wasn't fully prepared for how in depth some of this stuff could be. I joined a forum called Nikonites and started reading. I saw people talking about "Bokeh" and I was like wtf?! Lol. I've got a better handle on it now but I still have years and years of learning in front of me.

Haha, my canon camera came with all these booklets that talk about bokeh, exposure, tricks with flash, etc. Then I just creep around forums learning the rest. Still way in the beginner stage though as I got my camera end of Dec and it's my first dslr.

Things seem to be recovering... I didn't take any medicine this morning, so I hope that doesn't come back to bite me later today. It's nasty and rainy today, and I am continuing the four months of accounting I started last night. To be fair to you real accountants, it's really just bookkeeping :icon17:

JARblue 04-18-2013 09:49 AM

On the accounting note, my wife has purchased her final review materials and scheduled another CPA exam for May 10th (Regulation this time).

::icon17:: on the bookkeeping I got out of public accounting, but when I was in it, It was 0 bookeeping. Now I work in industry (private accounting) and my work is maybe 20% bookkeeping and the rest is creating budgets, analyzing financial performance, and closing books/creating financial statements. so there will usually be a little bookkeeping involved.

30 degree change in two days is a shock. It's supposed to be closing in on 100 at this time of year! I already put all of my Winter clothes (just some sweaters and one jacket) away. :p

Yeah, my wife is so ridiculously happy with her new job. Public accounting just wasn't fun. And her current employer isn't large enough to really require a lot in the way of analyzing except basic fundamentals of running a business (like you don't let your managers buy thousands of dollars of soft drinks each year for himself and the employees - especially when none of the other companies get to do this). She definitely does a good bit of bookkeeping for the subsidiary companies, but she is really more just working under the current CFO to prepare to take over since he wants to retire soon

They're not exactly quick, I hear :ugh2: Soon, though, good sir. Soon

Thanks, she has passed it once already a while back, but of course, it has since expired. She has to pass REG and FAR before September, which is of course a blackout month, so she'll have May until she takes the test in August for FAR.

Fire 04-18-2013 10:11 AM

Hi peeps. :hello: Waiting for the call that my car is done. Figured about 5 hours soo I have atleast an hour.:eekdance:

I'm only ever late to work. It's been 3 years since my last, and only, vacation so I'm in IDGAF mode.

Sitting here thinking about how I can help the West victims. Might go visit a blood bank and make a monetary donation today. One of our fellow Z owners up there has most likely been up all night tending to victims at the hospital he works at. I've been trying to reach him to see if he needs anything like food or coffee sent his way.

I'm in a similar situation as your wife and definitely enjoying the transition from Public. Working ridiculous tax season hours was just not for me. I like work life balance.

I would say your wife is fine then for this test

kenchan 04-18-2013 10:17 AM

goodam everyone! :hello:

while i was working in LA, we had CPA's coming during tax time. i called them California Public Accountants since they were so f-king clueless. :shakes head: :icon17:

speaking of taxes, we had problems filing online for some reason and we sent out our package back in late march.. UPSP showed 'sorted at xx facility' for 2 f-king weeks with no movement. :eekdance: finally yesterday it was delivered.
