Not very true.....

Remember the first set of Vosseen I had on the Z?? I actually curb-rash it in the summer, a long one....

Brought it to the shop, a good one, once they saw it's chrome, they shake their head and nothing can be done to restore to original.

They explained to me because the chrome is a from a plating process, and there's no way they can chrome-plated the rim again because they are not the factory, and buffing and polish can only remove the scratch and smoothed the surface, but there will be scuff-marks on the area.

Eventually they did it in front of me, smoothed the area, polish the lip, but yes, there's scuff marks.

But the scuff marks is so mild that you can barely see it...

Yeah thanks for the info. The wheels he's selling are polished, not chrome.

If you bring that wheel to a wheel shop, they will tell you the lip is "chrome"

The OEM sports wheel you have, it's polish

Yup, I might wax the entire car too.

So I'm thinking of wrapping my spouse's gift in a pregnancy test box to freak him out a bit. Just not sure if the in-laws would find it tacky.

I just don't see them all that much -- they are more in the flannel shirt, cowboy boot, patchouli oil, buzz-cut crowd, if you catch my meaning.

Yup, you grew out of em. It happens. I've got a number of friends that I've grown out of. I'm sure that they think I've abandoned them. Simple,fact is that I've moved on.

I thought they can polish it and make it shines again and they told me it can't be don't on site, unless I bring it to some place that they can re-do the plating.

If you are going to re-paint or powder coated it, then the scuffs marks doesn't matter...
