The gobmint considers the sear alone to be a "machine gun" so you will need a license to legally possess/use that part, but, last time I looked, all the other parts are legal. But it's been a while since I looked, so YMMV.

that's the road I was hoping to go down. I have family in Vegas and was trying to figure out a way to register the gun with one of them. 
I'm liking that Vortext optic!! I'm going to make a decision in a few weeks on that or just get the eotech set up. thanks!
