I went with the size matters on my decision. 8 3/8” barrel 629.

LMAO, no way to use that bad boy as a service weapon. Not sure I could draw and fire two rounds in three seconds without blowing my foot off.

Haha. It is kind of intimidating when you see it. Not quite as much now that they have the X-frames, but it’ll still quite a site. I carry it in the deer stand. Figure if I get out and have to stare down a wild hog, I want something to drop his ***.

I have a 6" blued Model 29 that I bought just before the Dirty Harry movies came out. Used to carry it in a shoulder holster.

My first was a S&W Model 19 4". Funny thing was we did'nt use .357 ammo we used .38 Special Nyclads because trying to load a speed clip of .357 under stress is a pipe dream.

My first was a Colt trooper MK3. Had to use .38's for qualification. Needed 113. In practice, I shot a 150 which is perfect. On the test. I shot a 148. :shakes head: Had a damn flyer.

Some of the guys carried those but everyone had to qualify with .357. I am left eye dominant so I had to learn how speed slowed kind of cross handed. I got pretty efficient after a lot of practice. Being right hand dominant it was a piece of cake doing off hand drills.

I'm left handed but shot right. I breezed through the off hand shooting part.

After a while. I switched to the 4" 686 S&W. I had a trigger job done on it. Then I changed again to my Colt Gov't Model 70 Series 1911. I actually worn the bluing off of that pistol.

Damn I thought I was a unicorn. I'm left eye dominant and right handed. I'm pretty much ambi when it comes to shooting. I was doing CQB before it was cool and since the beginning I always shot both eyes open.

If anyone is ordering ammo or reloading supplies on line. Have fun. :shakes head: It's either sold out or limited on how much you can order. :shakes head: 9mm and .223 is hit the hardest.

A friend wanted me to reload some of his stuff. Went on line and couldn't find what I was looking for. He's SOL for now. Told him, he has to find it.

Again. I still remember the last time where I couldn't get powder. :shakes head: You still can't get some of it. RL 26 has been non existent since then.
