I’m not one to tacticool old school firearms but I like the M-Lok handguard and red dot mount MI makes for Marlin lever actions. Definitely gives Marlin lever actions more flexibility. Also the hand guard can be used to mount a light and/or a Hoptic Quiver or Longbow.

One of the reasons I’m leaning towards Marlin is due to the red dot mount MI has for their fore end. It puts a red dot very close to the bore so you can lower 1/3 co-witness the open sights and, but more importantly, not have a ridiculously cheekwell when using the red dot.

:yum::yum:

I like the idea of a lever gun in 357 and that setup looks pretty nice.

Considering some places are charging an arm or a leg for ammo, I wonder which would be a better deal. :roflpuke2:

Well that didn't take long. :shakes head:

ATF raided Polymer80 a few days ago and the ATF is already threatening customers. Customers are getting "forfeiture requests" and if they don't comply the ATF says they will come back with a warrant. It's just a matter of time until ATF tries that with someone that is not going to comply. Unfortunately I fear that blood will be spilt before this is over like how it's happened with red flag laws. :shakes head:

I've been keeping an eye on this. The ATF already went to one guys home and raided it. The ATF is going through the company's records and seeing who bought what. They have already went through Brownell's records and a few others. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

From what I have read. If you have a firearm that needs a tax stamp. You gave up the right to a search warrant. They can search your home without one. You can thank the 1925 congress for that.

In some circles these raids are being referred to as the Biden Raids.

It's already been said that the ATF has had meetings with Biden. And that the ATF is going to get back it's power that it has lost. The same thing with the IRS too.

I’ve been super happy with my Vortex stuff. It’s not top tier stuff but does a fantastic job for my purposes. Also you can basically beat it on the concrete and they will replace it for free.

A little perspective on the size of round for my new rifle. :rofl2:

Left, .223 with a Sierra 69gr match bullet.

Center, .308 with a Sierra 168gr match bullet

Right, .338 Lapua Magnum with a 285gr Hornady match bullet.

And a 6" scale.

I understand the whole idea of supply and demand but F scalpers

It's real bad in the computer graphics card market too right now. I was selling a GPU recently and had a guy try to scalp me in a trade+cash offer. TLDR, he wanted to get almost $800 in trade+cash for a GPU whose MSRP was $399. :shakes head:

If there is no serial number on the bolt, I'd hit GunBroker for a bolt that is in better shape.

Great find. :tup::tup::tup:

Rusty 01-08-2021 08:49 AM

I have a 7mm Mauser Model 98 that was sporterized. My dad bought it off of a laid off auto worker back in the late 70's for $40.00.

Scored 2 lbs of RL 26 powder from the backwoods gunshop. I have to go back in that direction tomorrow. So I think I will get his last lb of RL 17.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to scoop up what ever powder I can find. Worst case, I can trade for what I need.

I'm set on primers. I have at least 2000 of each CCi 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550. Plus some Federals.

Rusty 01-14-2021 04:55 PM

Picked up another lb of RL 26, and a lb of RL 17 today.

I am looking for some 5.56 blanks. We have a can launcher on the way and ammo is getting extinct. Anyone have a good source? Going to look for a cheap upper as well to just leave it attached to.

Everything is drying up with Jan 20th coming.

I got an e-mail notice for powder. Soon as I got the notice. I logged on to the site. Put the powder in my basket and tried to check out. Only to be told that where was no more. I was a too slow.

Just got this in the mail today.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's for leveling scopes on rifles that have a flat top. It works good. Cuts down the time for trying to level the scope. Comes in a nice case too.

You know.....

The first can you launch has to be a Twisted Tea now. ;) :rofl2:

I’m assuming your getting a X-Products Can Cannon. I have one and discovered 2 ways of shooting cans. I nicked named them H.E. and Tracer.

H.E. - Can loaded bottom side down. Can will stay intact and exploded on impact with a solid.

Tracer - Can loaded top side down. When launched, the pressure of the blank pops the top and a stream of the cans contents follows the can. Can still breaks apart on impact but it is not as spectacular.

Of course this is what usually happens but sometimes it is inconsistent.

One thing to know, the recoil is similar to a shotgun so make sure you fully shoulder it when you shoot it.
