While driving my wife's car, I almost got hit by a door that flew off the back of a pickup truck two cars ahead of me. We were traveling North on I83 between Baltimore and the PA line. I can't believe that moron didn't secure his load. The wind caught the door and it flew up in the air a good 30 feet, twirling like an Olympic diver before coming down in the middle of the lane. Traffic was heavy and I had to swerve into the left shoulder as the door hit the road a few feet to my right.
I had target fixation for a split second. A door spiraling through the air is not something I see every day, and to be honest, it was kind of cool, but I snapped out of it and avoided being a casualty.
