In all seriousness, I think this could backfire on him. Not the capture of bin Laden per se, but the fact that he refuses to ask AG Holder to call off the "probe" into the CIA officers who practiced "enhanced interrogation techniques" against high-value targets under orders from the previous administration. He's basking in the glory of taking down bin Laden on one hand, while persecuting those whose interrogations most likely yielded the intelligence that made taking down bin Laden possible in the first place (the Obama administration will neither confirm nor deny). The word "sleazy" doesn't even begin to adequately describe the situation. Let me put it this way. If before bin Laden's death I rated Obama a 5/10, I rated him a 7/10 immediately afterwards. But then I found out that he's refusing to back off of ruining the lives of the CIA officers who did their duty, in spite of him basking in the glory of their results, and now I'd rate him 3/10. Congratulations, Mr. President, you took one step forward, and two steps back. As D!ck Cheney stated over the weekend: "It is an outrage that we would go after the people who deserve the credit for keeping us safe for seven and a half years." "These men deserve to be decorated. They don't deserve to be prosecuted." I know Cheney isn't everyone's favorite, and that's cool. But I couldn't agree with him more on this particular issue.
