Default Helping Japan In Crisis - Our Donation Plan

Following the awful news about the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan last Thursday/Friday, Ben wrote the following blog post in an effort to make people aware of ways that they could help donate to the Red Cross' relief campaign:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by this horrific disaster. The picture above and many others are simply frightening and emphasize that Japan currently needs the support and prayers of the world’s citizens. (photo source: Reuters)

For all of the inspiration, support and love that Japan has shown us over the years, I feel it is my duty to help them in this time of need. Just like I work to support Japanese innovators in the tuning world by encouraging people to not buy knockoffs and support authentic original products; I want to support those that I care for in Japan again right here and right now.

As such, effective immediately we will be donating 3% of all sales under $500 and 2% of all sales over $500 to the American Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund. Although 2 and 3% might seem like small numbers, we’re talking percentage of sales not percentage of profit…Quite a few of these parts we’re only making 5-10% profit to begin with due to exchange rates so it is likely that sometimes donations will be in excess of 25% of our profit on a given purchase.

The % of sales donation will apply to all sales of all Japanese imported products starting from now and ending at the end of March. It applies to all sales sold either online or on the phone by our companies:

Bulletproof Automotive

370Ztune.com

GT-RR.com

We will continue to do our part to support Japan in all ways we can, just like we have for more than a decade already as an exporter of their goods. We are grateful for everyone’s support of the Japanese tuning scene over the years and we hope to continue to give back to the culture and country which has inspired us and brought us joy repeatedly over the years.

Regardless of whether you are a customer of ours (or even a car owner at all) - I encourage you all to give direct donations to the red cross at the link below:

Just like us being a small business, your donation alone might not be a lot of money but collectively it certainly adds up and provides much needed support to a country in need.

This is our blog post from last week, which was originally posted on Friday 3/11:
THE REAL JDM

It was entered above as it was originally written. However, as it seems like this may cause confusion, I will amend the date in the original post. Thanks for reading the post and bump as it will no doubt help more people read the thread and hopefully help out.
