Default Mid Life Crisis Car

I take delivery on my 370z tonight. Base model, Black. I think it will be a lot of fun. I have been driving the same car (2000 Dodge Intrepid) for 10 years so looking forward to the change. I will be 50 this year and think this is a perfect mid life crisis type car!

Default Congratulations

Another Z in Indiana, great cause I've yet to see one on the road around here. Southern Indiana here. Got my black Z last weekend, so my midlife crisis started at 44.

Default new 370Z OWNER AGE 44

Hi there,
I just sold my motorcycle and decided to play it safe with 4 wheels.
What better way to do it with a new Z. I dont miss the bike at all, the Z is much more exciting and fun. My wife is cool about it, I think she prefers me driving on 4 wheels as opposed to 2. I find myself like a kid again anxiously looking forward to polishing and driving the car. i sometimes just park it and stare at it, i cant believe what a head turner it is. I like to watch other folks reaction when they see it, its awesome. So enjoy your new ride dude and relish in the moment, you deserve it.

I know you are making light here when you say "mid-life crisis"....but...why is this such a stereotypic response when people in there 50's buy a sports car?

I have always looked at it as that I have done my time with raising kids and all and its time to pay a little attention back on "muah" since I have done nothing but spill blood, sweat and tears for the young ones I brought into this world.

Just curious why we perpetuate in such a "negative" way rewarding ourselves for all our hard work and responsibility we bore on our shoulders living for everyone else for the past 20-25 years?

Funny part, I'm 31 and view my Z as my MLC-car...

Hmm...

Yeah i'm not even 30 yet and this will be my excuse for wanting to feel young again. Something to fill the void.

I'm 40 and it's been pointed out to me many times that I must be having a mid life crisis after buying mine. That and the "nice .......extension you have there, are you compensating for something" comments.

All water off a ducks back to me, jealousy is a funny thing lol.

Buying a sports car when you get older isn't a midlife crisis . . . it just means you've gotten to the point where you can afford it and you've come to the realization that life's too short to drive a Camry.

A midlife crisis is leaving your wife to chase women 20 years younger than you. I had a partner who did that. Didn't really work out for him. He should've taken into consideration the fact that he looks a lot like Herman Munster.

If you think that you are experiencing a mid life crisis on that stage then so be it..
