Illegal is illegal. If it's on a public street it must meet all legal requirements.

That sucks, I have my front plate on just because I didn't want to get hassled all the time, figured I'd try and keep it somewhat legal just for once

i'm not talking about front plates as much as like, meter running out etc. I understand the logic behind enforcing metered parking, but at the same time i come to a question. I'm pretty sure anyone who has a job that causes other people problems, has some way of rationalizing it. Whether it be a repo guy (who is taking cars from people who HAVENT paid for them or whoever) What i don't understand is how a police officer really feels like they are protecting and serving by standing there waiting for your meter to run out, so that when you get there 3 minutes later, you have to pay a parking ticket. I understand giving parking tickets if the meter is way over etc, but come on, i've seen them wait there for it. I also understand writing tickets when someone is illegally parked in front of a hydrant or a fire zone etc, but not for waiting for a meter to expire so they can get some money for their municipality.

Just playing devils advocate. The metermaid has a job to do and kids to feed too. They don't get paid per ticket or have a quota (that they'll admit to), but I'm sure the total number of tickets in a year goes to performance evaluations and those go to promotions which leads to more money for the kids. And maybe a job that isn't reffered to as metermaid.

I leave my front plate in the right hand corner of the windshield.

In Texas law is displayed to the front and rear of the car. I've as a constible about the windshield and he said he considers that to be displayed up not front. So he would give that a ticket.

That is 50/50, I have had cops say windshield fulfills the "front of the vehicle" law in Texas and others say they would ticket you.

Yea metermaids are what i'm talking about. I understand you are just playing devils advocate, so we can humor one another. I don't think having kids to feed can necessarily rationalize doing a job. Smuggling drugs? Being a Hit-Man? STEALING CARS? I see your point i just think that all they really do is create revenue for the state and piss off people.

Get the Stillen front plate frame, that is what I did.

BTW, I hate front license plates.

I'll try to keep it short. Basically, I was running late to work. I hopped in the carpool lane to jump ahead of a few cars, then got back into the normal lanes. A few miles later, I did it again. A cop pulled me over, of course. Here's the thing...I'm a cop myself. Not a lame-@ss traffic cop, though. Anyway, I showed the officer my badge and credentials, and explained my situation. It was rush hour, I had a last minute schedule change...it wasn't like I was joy-riding on a Sat afternoon by myself in the HOV lane. He didn't want to hear any of it. He came back with a citation for TWO HOV violations!!! Whatever. I signed the ticket and told him how he was doing God's work by pulling over fellow LE officers for HOV violations. Here's the good part...he started yelling at me and SLAPPED THE ROOF OF MY CAR!!! So, I get out of my car and it becomes a screaming match on the side of the 405N, in Long Beach. TOTALLY unprofessional. Seriously??? HITTING MY CAR??? I guess he realized his dash cam was on (or possibly what a douche he was being) because he just gets back in his car and takes off. WTF??? A couple weeks later when I had time off, I went to the station to talk to either him, or his supervisor. Naturally, he wasn't available so I spoke to his boss. His boss, very politely, told me to go f*ck myself. The best part of that conversation was how his supervisor told me about how often HE flew solo in the HOV lane. HUH??? Anyway, I paid the citation and I'm currently enjoying my 8 hrs of online traffic school. At least traffic school helped my knock the fine down to $560....which was going to be spent on a spoiler.
