I have a hard time spending top dollar on a watch. I love them but I like too many nice things, so I need to keep a cap on what I buy. At my current income I think $3500 on the Carrera is the absolute max I'd feel comfortable spending... but even then I'd have to think it over 10020 times. It's probably a year-end-bonus purchase and nothing else.

Timex is great for the field. Although I think the Casio GShock is probably the best field watch.

Yeah I noticed how much it looked like the one you posted... must be your lucky day.. :)

Seiko kinetics are great. The first watch I ever got was a kinetic, much like that one, but two-tone silver/gold with a blue face. It doesn't have a charge right now but I could put it on the winder and it'd be ready for work tomorrow morning.

Looks good, but to big for my skinny wrist, I have Popeye arms! I've had Citizen watches. But couldn't justify spending a coupe hundred, on something that just tells time. Mainly- how much longer till I'm off work, and being on time for supper( hell hath no fury, like a woman's scorn).

G-Shocks are great, but don't impress in the boardroom. I had a couple for quite some time before I started getting the comments in the office. If I were in a stage of life where I didn't give a shix what the bosses thought, I would probably pick another up.

I would never wear a Gshock anywhere but the field.

Something like that... :::: U-BOAT OFFICIAL WEBSITE ::::
Funny thing is that it's not even German but Italian... Guess they were friends anyways....

shumby 07-05-2010 06:28 PM

Tag indy 500 is what i sport. nice reasonable $1500 watch. really don't want to spend more then that.

m4a1mustang 07-05-2010 06:29 PM

U Boats are nice, but pricey! Love this one: U-Boat 55-CAB-3 Men Watch | The Watchery

frost 07-05-2010 06:35 PM

Never seen a u-boat. That's a serious fuckin watch. I'm not sure what statement that thing makes, but it definitely makes a statement.

m4a1mustang 07-05-2010 06:39 PM

Yup. Love that style. There are plenty of small watch companies that make similar styles... you can find them for a good bit less. Good WWII style pilots watches. Big numbers... ridiculously functional when you need a time check while doing something sort of important. :D

Xan 07-05-2010 06:46 PM

You'll have them bowing down to the greatness of your watch in no time...

Trips 07-05-2010 06:50 PM

U-Boat watches are pricey but very nice. the place for such a watch, would be like in a fight scene with lets say Jean Claude Van Damme

Some u boats.

Xan 07-05-2010 07:35 PM

I like the last one! (and not just because of the model.. :))

frost 07-05-2010 08:12 PM

Speaking of finer things, gorgeous bike.

I don't know much about custom builds, but $14k seems like a steal.

m4a1mustang 07-05-2010 08:46 PM

If you don't want to spend the coin on a U-BOAT, Debaufre makes similar styles that you might like. They are more of a homage company than anything else but they use quality swiss movements. They still aren't cheap, though... roughly $600.

True, but Indy could pull it off with style ................. and he was a Professor, another attribute that warranted a bag

I don't get into that stuff. I have pink shirts, have a little puff of a dog, and I'll carry a fuckin man purse if I think it will sort my stuff better. When you're as manly as me, you don't have to concern yourself with such trivial stuff.

lol, I have a 20 year old weathered Ralph Lauren Polo that is pink, and it rocks. I was catching hell for it in another thread a while back, and someone spoke up and said "hell, they charge big bucks at Abercrombie now for that aged look" ............... it's a cool shirt, I could care less that it's pink :tiphat:
