I feel like EVERY company is pushing AI - without even knowing how or why it will help their company. I got told a few weeks ago - we have these AI tools - so we need to be faster and it was like 'WTF - its not a magic bullet' that will magically make us all 10x faster etc - and do you want it 'right' or do you want it 'fast' - work as a frontend dev - so I see my job either being replaced by AI or being outsourced and have them use the AI magic machine at a 1/4 of the cost of me. /rant

It will cost companies millions in the long run if not used right. AI is only good if the info given to it is good to begin with. It's going to hit middle management hard. Just wait until someone hacks it.

This! Without even verifying this, companies are using AI to train other AI models. Sheer hubris to think that we will be able to control this in the coming years. Pandora's box has been opened, and there is no closing it at this point given the amount of capital invested. Much like anything else, shareholders want a return, regardless of whether or not the return is based on ethical means or data driven decisions.
