A buddy of mine had a 69 or 70 GTX. Was a 440 and it was an auto but was fitted with a Hurst shift kit. Don't remember what it was called, but it was basically a manual auto.

I do remember that it was a two man job to get it started. One to turn the key, the other to turn the distributer till it fired up.

Every 4 speed car I ever had. Had a Hurst Super Shifter in it. No rubber bushings in the linkage. Just solid steel bushings.

I was driving a friends 68 Camaro. Candy Apple red. Big rear tires. Killed it twice in an intersection. Third time I let ‘er rip, hurst speed shifter with the finger trigger. Burning tires for half a block in our small town.
I didn’t get to drive again for awhile.

I was 17 or so. Good times.

I learned on a 1996 240sx. Then owned a Z and now have my STI (that would beat the fkn balls off a shitty BMW Supra). Still looking to purchase a classic even if its a resto.

Buddy of mine growing up together had a green '70 440 GTX.
