CEO is correct. I’m a capitalist so I’m siding with management on this one. If workers want bonuses, then company needs to turn enough profits to justify them. Jealous of the CEO’s pay? Then work your way into ceo position.

Socialists would want to cut c suite pay to redistribute to workers. The workers are all expendable lower skilled assets, they wouldn’t even have jobs but for the ceo/leadership that created the company and made it successful enough to hire people.

7. Trump and biden administrations both have sh1t all over our liberty with the excuse of public health.

8. It’s an experimental vaccine, of course there’s going to be unexpected side effects, it never made it thru phase 3 trials and full fda approval, that takes years.

9. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Power also is opportunistic. Neither administration hated having so much power over the citizenry.

10. Fauci and all the folks in that level are corrupt bc there is a revolving door between high level govt positions and high level coporate jobs. Trump head of fda, Steve gotleib left admin and then became pharmaceutical ceo immediately iiirc. It’s not party specific. (I think it was phizer actually for gotleib).

11. None of the above will ever change, all we can do is try to demand that news media report facts, call the bs and we enforce laws against corruption etc.

Remember, trump railed against China, started a trade war, but was secrecy angling for special privileges for ivanka’s brands in China. Pretty corrupt, just like an unqualified son of a former vp getting a seat on a Ukraine company board. Or the bush family with close ties to Saudi Arabia starting so many gulf wars and making our military saudis de facto mercenaries. Or trump admin working out sweetheart deals with the Saudis and then “coincidentally” Jared kushners underwater real estate development getting a massive Saudi cash infusion…

I can understand both POV's. BUT, her delivery of the message was off. She's demanding for the workers to hit the $26 milly goal, and without a good team, she won't achieve that and will have to answer to the board/shareholders. Each employee is a business within a business, and in a business relationship, it has to be a 2-way street and a win-win for both parties. The CEO needs a good team just as much as a good team needs a good CEO. I don't think it's so much as the workers feel like they need to get CEO pay, but, a little something, whether monetary or not, goes a long way. Even if there are no bonuses, there is a certain way to say things, and the way she did was out of touch.

It's one thing if there are no bonuses given the state of the economy/health of the company, and I'm sure most employees will understand. But berating employees like that will kill morale and motivation. A happy and appreciated employee will always do more than what is expected of them. Me personally, I know what I bring to the table, and it's my nature to be the best at whatever I do and no one will outwork me and will always go the extra mile. But if you kill my spirit, you better believe I will do the bare minimum and will be looking at another company that recognizes and appreciates my talents.

Employees are assets to the management plain and simple, they are all totally replaceable and expendable. There is no two way street for lower level folks, as people move up in rank/position, then it becomes more of a two way street.

You said the ceo has to answer to the board/shareholders too. I agree, she saved the company $$$ by not giving out bonuses and if she fired some employees she’d save even more if necessary.

There’s positive and negative motivation tools, there’s time and place for both, when the worker bees get sturry and restless and too entitled, that’s the time for the stick. When they bust their a$$ and hit production and $$$ goals for the company, that’s the time for the carrot.

My problem with this is why, then, were they pushing so hard for everyone to get vaccinated? If it was an experimental vaccine, would the unknown side effects/risks/dangers be greater or less than that of COVID itself? I understand full FDA approval takes a long time, so these vaccines should NOT have been mandated but voluntary/at-will with the full understanding that you get this vaccine at your own risk. At the time of these vaccines coming out, we had a virus that no one understood at all and a "vaccine" for a virus where we had little to no information on. This makes no sense. It's like going to the doctors for an ear infection but taking cold medicine and praying this will do something.

I am a millennial lol. Taking the money/bonus aspect out of the picture, just because she's the CEO doesn't mean she can berate employees like that. They are all grown@$$ people, and she puts on her pants 1 leg at a time just like the rest of the world.

I believe in both positive and negative reinforcement, but there is a time/place for each. Getting rid of dead-weight employees, I totally agree with. But treat your loyal, productive employees with respect. Without them, you don't have a company to run. Also, her message was hit the goal and not worry about the bonus, whereas you said if they hit the number's, then it's time for the carrot. So her expectation was to achieve the goal with the understanding that there would not be a bonus.

Totally agree, but the govt wants to get their money’s worth, trump and Biden later, both admins gave billions to esp phizer and that purchased a metric shitton of vaccines, mandatory/or de facto mandatory was an easy way to get their monies worth.

Also, remember the road to hell is paved with good intentions. The vaccine mandates/speedy rollout was done with the good intentions of ending the pandemic. Realistically, the number of serious (at least short term) side effects has been low/acceptable.

The real problem is we treated Covid pandemic like it was Ebola, in which case, we’d all be glad to get a vaccine as effective as the Covid shots even if it turned your left testicle blue bc Ebola has a 50-90% mortality rate.

When Covid first hit, we didn’t know if this was the flu or Ebola mortality wise, it took about 3 months to get a decent scientific handle on it. By then, the money had already been given by trump admin to phizer et al and the admin didn’t want to claw it back bc pulblic outcry would have been insane, remember we’re talking summer of 2020 here.

The real problem is we treated Covid pandemic like it was Ebola, in which case, we’d all be glad to get a vaccine as effective as the Covid shots even if it turned your left testicle blue bc Ebola has a 50-90% mortality rate.

When Covid first hit, we didn’t know if this was the flu or Ebola mortality wise, it took about 3 months to get a decent scientific handle on it. By then, the money had already been given by trump admin to phizer et al and the admin didn’t want to claw it back bc pulblic outcry would have been insane, remember we’re talking summer of 2020 here.
If I remember correctly, these vaccines were free, no?

With the amount of clots/heart attacks/strokes, it seems like additional unnecessary deaths occurred with the vaccines.

I'm sure there will be other pandemics coming, and I know I will not buy into those vaccines then, regardless of the consequences.

I think we fundamentally have a different view of what a lower level employee is “worth” to a business, I think part of that is generational.

I heard her speech differently in that I took away that she was saying don’t worry about bonuses until after we hit our numbers which to me means once their target is reached, then we talk carrots.

To be fair, I wasn’t sitting there rewinding and analyzing her speech and picking it apart either, so I may have inferred something she didn’t say.
