Come on man... fried gator is not

at all. If it were so good, there'd be tons of Gator meat themed drive-throughs all over this state. Buffalo Gator, Smoked Gator, Gator Jerky, Gator Cacciatore, London Gator, BLT & Gator, Gator n Turf, Gator n Grits.... yeah, never heard of any of that. Maybe it's fun to talk about, but it's just cooked big lizard. Not good.

it was OK as a novelty thing when passing through the area.

Went out to dinner tonight. The "oysters" were on the menu. They were called "Bull Fries".

Had a nice ribeye.

We had a restaurant that served gator bites, frog legs, rattle snake bites, armadillo, "oysters", and chocolate covered ants.

The place went under.

It was the ants, a bridge too far.

All that “exotic” meat is actually harder to prepare and cook right in order to be good, too difficult to consistently serve quality dishes plus one or two exotic offerings is a cool hook for customers. A menu built around them is a shtick and that gimmick will ware thin pretty quick.

It’s easy to Fvck up cooking gator and if you do, it’s like eating a leather shoe.

But done right so it’s tender, hmm wifey and I like it a lot. There’s lots of places here that offer fried gator bites as an appetizer or if you’re in La Cajun country, my favorite, a gator po’boy, Fvck that’s good eatin.
