So much for having 3 days of vacation. Had a call first thing this morning because our DAG failed over to secondary for no apparent reason....

Ugh... doesn't sound like your HA and clustering nodes worked as expected in a fail situation otherwise they wouldn't be calling you.

Times like these is a way to prove your value add to the company... yearly reviews are coming up. Play your cards right.

They did what they were suppose to. Cluster failed over to secondary. Not like it even matters since I've migrated the entire org to exchange online. Quicker to just switch back over to primary than explain why the clusters no longer matter.

Good stuff... hopefully you're able to switch back to primary w/ no issues and get back to your vacation. You've been thru a lot this year with team players leaving and the company not back filling those positions. Sucks. I'm really hoping they take care of you... well deserved IMO.

If I'm not given a sys admin title and substantial pay increase. I am walking and will find some place else with less hassle.

But please be careful...one word of advise if I may... don't give your company an ultimatum unless you have something firmly lined up and in the pipeline. Most times it won't end up well.

On the bright side I can tell you a lot of companies are now hiring for remote work since Covid times. Companies are realizing that [IT] folks can work remotely which allows them to bring in more talent from around the US than if they were to hire candidates local office only. You're a smart guy. Get that reZume dusted off!
