That's very kind of you. I've let about 4 people drive my car but they all have experience to back it up and synchro rev match has to be on.

I let kids that gawk at the car sit in it and take pictures. As for the ladies that like the car, I let them sit in it as well and if they're "my type" I'll let them put their foot on the clutch, put the car into neutral and press the push button to start it up. The look on their faces is always something to remember.

It says a ride, not a drive. I'm guessing he didn't let the kid drive it. I've let a few people drive my car. Pretty much all of them drove it with SRM off No burning clutch allowed - you can have plenty of fun and still smoke the tires without riding the clutch.

I'm about to let a family friend (17 yo) learn how to drive manual on my Z once it gets back from the shop. I am waiting to install the Stage 2 clutch kit and leaving in the stock clutch (100K miles on it) for him to practice with. We will be on a closed course and in parking lots for safety.

Does this 17yo have ANY experience driving a manual or will yours be their first? I have always felt the Z is one of those cars that isn't a friendly standard comparing it to the Hondas and VWs that I have driven. I tried to teach my niece how to drive standard on my MK6 - after she got frustrated with trying to get used to first and when to give gas and when to feather the clutch; i think after that day - she decided to stick with autos (sad day for me) haha.

I've let quite a few people drive my cars over the years. As long as they have a valid driver's license, my insurance covers everything. I like cars but they're just a collection of metal and plastic parts.

My Vette is a great car to teach someone to drive stick.
776 wheel with 767 torque. You can dump the clutch at idle
and it will pull away like a John Deer tractor. LOL

Hah I did this on my old clutch. My youngest brother (15 years my junior) had never driven a manual. Took him out to the parking lot at my dad's church, and we worked on cruising around. Getting used to 2 pedals is tough for some people

He has no manual experience. That's why I'm leaving the stock clutch in. There's nothing in the clutch system he can mess up that I haven't already purchased a replacement for.

I feel like the Z is an excellent option for several reasons. SRM is a great tool for learning how the Z wants to be driven. Also, the power in the car means that you can get going in 1st gear without even touching the gas pedal if you let out the clutch slow enough - this is great practice for clutch modulation.

I can't stand the numb pedal feel in most manual cars these days, VWs especially

I’m a 2 pedal guy; that hole underneath the left side is to stretch my leg/legs out while cruising
At 6’6” itt a bit tougher working the 3 pedals

Here's the thing. My Z offers me other experiences no hot bimbo can:

1. She won't talk back to me
2. She will do what I tell her and when I tell her
3. She won't get wrinkly
4. She's low maintenance
5. I get my fix without the wine-and-dine nonsense

In all seriousness, I would never let anyone drive my car, let alone ride in it. Even when I had the A7 Z, I didn't let the wifey drive it. Even when replacing tires, I bought an extra set of rims to take to the tire shop to put tires onto the rims to ensure nobody drives my car.
