Yeah, I’ve been researching tons for about 3 years now and trying to figure out which way to go for the next stage of my build. Currently have 2” lift and 33s and I’m just going to cut out the middleman (skipping over a 35” build) and go 37s next with the ability to run 40s (equipment wise) later on if I wanted to. Wife’s already pissed about “wasting $$” on the 33s but at th3 time I didn’t think I’d want more. At least I won’t make the same mistake again.

I’ve ruled out Currie b/c all their 60 and 70 rear ends are high pinion aka running coast side of the ring gear and even tho you pick up ground clearance, the lose of strength and possible oiling th3 pinion bearings issue bothers me.

Dynatrac has great clearance with their housings but their price point for equal or better strength axles is a couple grand higher and like Currie and all the other bespoke axle manufacturers, they have some exclusive parts which could make sourcing replacement parts annoying.

Fusion seems really great and a kingpin steering setup is damn near unbreakable but price is around 3-4K more than UD60s and is price comparable to dynatrac.

I’m not even going to talk about Crane, way too much $$$$$

The UD60s are 69” wide which is fine for 37-40” tires. FF Rear, which was a requirement for me and come with choice of arb air locker or Eaton new 4-pin elocker (my preference, a bit cheaper and don’t need on board air immediately).

Front is a HP super 60 r&p (10.1” ring gear), rear is low pinion 9.75” 60. Two gear ratios available: 4.88 or 5.38.

I’m going 4.88 bc with the 37s and 5at/v6 that’s a good all around gearing. If I ever were to go to 40s, I would just need to regear to 5.38s assuming no other changes but another alternative would be to stick with the higher gears and swap in an atlas tc with a lower crawl ratio than my current 4:1 and keep the 4.88s for better hwy drivability. Also if a hemi or ls ever gets dropped in, the higher fears will work with 40s too. Also thinking eventually an ev west style electric conversion may happen, (not by choice) far further down the line and with the torque electric motors make, 4.88s with 40s is plenty.

Axles are bolt on ready, no fabbing bracketry or messing with tone rings for wss and abs wiring. Ram 3500 brakes, really plug and play with almost all off the shelf parts. Just buy wheels and tires.

When they first dropped it was only $11k for the complete set.

Wish I woulda got some back then but $$$ and timing was wrong, also thought 33s would be plenty.

I am swaying back and forth at the edge of the rabbit hole, and I’m about to tumble down.

Need a nice slow shift at work tonight. No crazies, no full moons sending idiots to emergency, just peace and quiet.

Evening everyone! Not to get too emotional in a quick reply on this thread, but as the build cost surpasses $5,000 and I look at all of the tasteful progress to the Z so far...I just want to thank you guys for creating such an incredible online resource with your contributions, and for taking me under your wing and answering any questions I may have! Big ups to all of the part-buying guidance as well. The car community is a fairly new horizon for me and I've been enjoying every minute of it. Oil cooler and front sway bar next week, hellz yeah.

Time for a few drinks and some cornhole

$5K. I dropped almost double that over that for a set of rims.

Just get a Power Wagon. Already has e-lockers, and a 12,000 (15,000) lbs winch. Have guys throwing on 40's with just AEV fender flairs, a 2" over springs on their 4.5G's. The axles are AAM 9.25 front and 11" rear. You won't break them. They're going from 4.11's to 5.13's.

I have an older 3G with the 4.56 gears. I can run 37's if I open up the front of the rear fender wells. Been a few to run 40's on their 3G's. I installed RCV axles in the front, along with the Dynatrac freespin hubs.
