Bumped my 1/4” Rigid impact driver w/4 AH battery in it & watched it fall 13’ onto the concrete

As I watched it crash down, driver went one direction & battery the other
Seen a small piece fly over towards the driver as well
First thought was, I bet warranty won’t cover this

Climbed down & inspect battery...ok, picked up driver...ok...slid battery in & everything worked
The piece that came off was the stainless clip in rear that holds a bit.

Speaking of adapter, my rotary hammer drill showed up today. Anyone have a recommendation for a SDS-plus chuck adapter for normal high speed drill bits?

Never used one.

How large of holes are you drilling? If it's just 3/16 or 1/4 for tapcons (get Hilti E Z ancors, thank me later) just get good bits with the flat spots on them. Cordless drills do ok on those as long as it has a newer style chuck that clicks as it closes. Even up to 3/8 would be ok.

I use the 1/4" at work all the time. They can be reused 100s of times if you don't strip the head or bend them. They hold way better than tapcons too.
