Her total bill was like 40k, and the hospital wouldn't wait for the insurance to pay. They were blowing up my phone every hour of every day wanting their money. :shakes head: I called the insurance company to find out what the hold up was, and got the typical insurance company run around. I was getting in trouble at work because of the phone calls, they were even calling my job. :eekdance: I cleaned out the 401k, paid the hospital off, and then about a week later, I got EOBs saying that I only owed about $3500....:eek: I called the hospital to get my money back and was told 'sorry, we don't give refunds'......

I'm still waiting for my case to get through court...... :icon14::icon14: by the time I get a judgement, the lawyer will get all the money.... :icon23::icon23:

I'd hate to say it, but you could always go Michelin PS4S. I don't know how much grip you feel you need as different people want different things, but the Conti Extreme Contact Sports have plenty of grip and still allow me to slide the car, even with 305s in the rear.

I've got them installed on both cars and they actually work well on the track (for the first few laps).

Looks like I'm on lock down until middle of May now and we all must start wearing masks when in general public. Hopefully this keeps the idiots in check better. Way to many tards outside right now just being disrespectful to those taking this seriously.

Thinking about going out to the barn and burn some propane and starting the clay process on the Z. But then again maybe NOT :rofl2:

You should have not paid them...Hospital bills are not or should be considered as personal loans.
They can bitch all they want...get a 100 debt collector company and they can’t touch you.
Besides you do have insurance..

We have hundreds of patients without insurance and bills get to half a million dollars and they dont pay even a nickel.

That is why Hospitals chase people who work hard to pay that expense.
But big hospital charge that to expense/write off.

They didn’t loose money.

Well it is Friday and pay day so it ain't all bad. Still working full time and dealing with employees that are doing stupid stuff. Got to go complete an employee misconduct investigation today. Gonna take a trip to Las Vegas just to drive the Strip and experience the ghost town this weekend. We Spring is here as the temps will be in the 70s and 80s over the next two weeks with no rain.

wow no joke. We've been doing this for a while now. Granted I no longer live in Austin city limits, it seems like most people here are being mindful.

The general public for the most part has been treating it very seriously here. My county has 800 in Quarantine and 250 people with Corona. Everyone outside is wearing a mask. It's primarily people like my dad who just have to go to the store every freaking day, old people who think they're exempt from all this, and groups of kids with no parental guidance to stay home.

I have left my house 4 times in the past 3 weeks. 1 grocery store trip, a trip to taco bell, a trip to refill the gas tank so it didn't sit, and a trip to pick up a medication refill. It's not difficult. People arr just morons and can't cope with being inside.

FPenvy 04-17-2020 09:58 AM

need opinions:

friends want to go golf sunday.

places have been diligent with safety precautions (employees with gloves, single person per cart, etc...) and i would love to golf but i feel like it's irresponsible maybe?

i mean we wont be close to each other, wipe down the carts with lysol wipes, they altered course to have raised cups so no touching flag sticks or inside the cups.

i mean how risky is it really? i know the 3 other guys i'd be going with.

i'm at a loss. am i being a good citizen by thinking its a dumb idea or is it just over-cautious and overthinking?

What do you guys think? Need street/autox/track tires as long as I'm driving the Z to/from. Probably gonna have to be one of the first purchases. I'm sure those RE-11s that Hotrodz sold me have been heat cycled a few times and they've just been sitting since I purchased them. I bet one of the tires splits within a week of driving it :eekdance:

i've let RE-11s sit all winter on the car in the garage and had no issues when beating on it when it came back out in the spring.

just check them for any dry rot and should be fine.

Just because you know them doesn't mean you know where they've been or what they've been doing (literally why I don't shake people's hands). Personally, I wouldn't risk it, but I'm probably one of the few people who is enjoying the quarantine because I like watching extroverts break mentally.

I don't see any problem with it if everyone is responsible. Very basic precautions can make a significant impact in your defense against transmission.

we went a few weeks ago even though i felt weird about it but i wore gloves, wiped down the entire cart area, kept distance, etc...

the course went above and beyond as well. carts were already in the parking lot spread out with personal parking space next to it, all employees gloved up and keeping away, only allowed 2 people in the clubhouse at a time to pay. seemed pretty well ran set up.

also the raised cup thing was a surprise but very smart move.

I purchased Chris' (Houston track guy) sport wheels a number of years back. They were wrapped with RE-11s with some track use but enough tread remaining for a few months on the street. One of them split on me 3 weeks later.

Nothing against the RE-11s. I just foresee a similar recurrence since the tires have a similar history. It is not a problem if something happens. Both times I was just buying the wheels and the RE-11 tread on them was just some bonus rubber for donuts as far as I was concerned :driving:

The clubs open here don't allow anyone in the clubhouse. Reserve online, pay online, walk up to window and they check your name off the list for your tee time. Carts waiting for you in the parking lot.

Agree on the raised cup idea. Smart

Overthinking. As long as you're taking reasonable precautions you'll be fine. Try not to lick any doorknobs or other humans.

There's a pretty sweet driving range that's open here as well. It's a big facility with a number of short distance options, so they offer free push carts for your bag for the walk to the long distance hitting range. Clubhouse is closed and carts are not available. To pay, they have an iPad with a credit card swipe (no cash) - you just swipe your card and don't have to touch anything. Might check it out on Sunday :)

Leingod 04-17-2020 10:32 AM

It's just golf. I wouldn't go. You'll survive another month or so not playing. My league was suppose to start on the 9th and that's been put on hold. If everything else is on lock down, you can be to for a bit. If I need to be outside, I go hangout on my porch or backyard and have a cigar or drink. No contact is even better than minimal contact.

Make your own. Flour, warm water, mash in some room temp butter, mix, proof for an hr or whatever, cut into small balls, roll flat, and toss in a skillet for a few seconds.
