Dude, she's been sitting in house arrest in Vancouver for the last year waiting for your justice department to initiate extradition proceedings. It finally started in late January but is still not dealt with.

Meanwhile, several Canadians are on death row in China (in retaliation), and our exports to them have all but dried up. Our dollar is in the crapper in part due to this.

It would have been hugely in Canada's economic interest to simply let her go and get trade moving again, but no, we held her because our "friend" to the south asked us to. We stuck by the fact that we are a nation of laws and this was a legal, not political issue. Then Orange 47 started spouting off about the possibility of using her as a political pawn in his self-inflicted trade war, making us look like the US's henchman. Yet we still held her, mainly because completing the extradition would be a problem for the US economically.

You are welcome!

EDIT: And by the way, our leader doesn't as much "bow" to everyone, as he apologizes to everyone. No idea WTF is with that. I dunno, I didn't vote for him. But back on topic, I have to admit that he's been very good in the last weeks of this crisis. It has to be testing for anyone at the top.
