I mix in a touch of networking, a touch of data center a touch of desktop architecture in between netflix episodes.

Whats your best IT prank? The best that Ive ran accross was a picture that a coworker had sent me from a user. My coworker set the users display rotated 180 degrees. The picture was of monitor (pre flat screen days) that was upside down, but perfect windows display. The user couldnt figure out how to set the rotation back to normal and just turned the whole monitor upside down, with the simple message of HELP. lol

I am a fan of screen shotting the desktop, setting it as the wallpaper then hiding the icons.

I was making a right hand turn at a light this morning. Some guy crossing the street was perfectly in the blind spot in front the drivers side mirror. If the sun was in my eyes, i wouldve had a dented bumper..

You're cheap. :rofl2: You don't know what you are missing. :driving:

I need a new graphics card. Wonder if they have come down in price since the crypto mining crap.

Seriously, that made me kind of angry. Getting a GeForce 1060 GTX for anything like a reasonable price became quite difficult.

StevenSlice 08-09-2018 01:07 PM

I heel toe just kinda mindlessly. If i wanted the car to do it for me i would have bought an automatic Z instead (:

i bought the auto because it's faster and better in every way :tiphat:

I sit in LA traffic at least 4 hours a day, if not more when I go to work. When I was in the market for a Z and test drove the manual, nope.. no way am I doing with a manual!

haha nice.

i test drove 4 different manuals when i was shopping for my Z and all were terrible. the clutch is blah and look at the now infamous CSC :bowrofl:

7AT was the right choice. it's faster, better gearing, no CSC, not an issue if you hit traffic, etc etc etc etc :stirthepot:

StevenSlice 08-09-2018 01:26 PM

I grew up with an automatic as my first car. It was super boring. Plus i dont really live in an area with heavy traffic, and only see it when i go to visit LA. Manual was a must for me, just couldnt warrant the extra money on something i felt i didnt need.

my first 2 out of 3 cars were manuals. had few in between as well. they're fun but have their place also the tech of DCT and better auto tech just makes them obsolete almost

The only thing I dont like about the AT on the Z is the dang shift delay. But I hear that a tune can fix that.. we shall see! I admit though, that the 2 step rev limiter does sound cool...

i have mine tuned so there's a small delay but i had my line pressure jacked up so it shifts tight and hard.....giggity.

:wtf2:

FPenvy 08-09-2018 02:01 PM

also, i believe some shop has found a way to add launch control to the 7AT with ecutek.

Haboob 08-09-2018 02:05 PM

Yeah, I got rid of the MT for an auto (DSG) because of traffic. So, so, so much better.

The MT is fun, but meh. I'm over it. And my leg feels better when sitting in traffic, haha.

bunk 08-09-2018 02:06 PM

I read about that. A shop up in the SF Bay area. I saw a video of kid have launch control on his AT. Doesnt bother me that I dont have it. It would suck anyway having launch control and only bolt ons as mods..lol

I had a 350z that was auto, and it was great. But it was also very boring, and I'm absolutely the kind of driver who starts nodding off the moment I get bored in traffic. I also had no interest in spending the kind of money necessary to make a 370z hold FI power if I decided to go that route. I have no doubt you've enjoyed the auto, but definitely not what I wanted.

Until it grenades your tranny. There's a reason why Nissan have disallowed/voided warranty work on transmissions with excessive LC use (I think they say like 10-15 times is allowable or some BS). But it is fun, even in the passenger seat. Though, the Tesla ludicrous mode LC is even better, IMO.

I have LC on the VW as well, but no plans to ever use it.

Im thinking about getting Custom ported and CNC throttle bodies, upper and lower manifolds by Synergy Composite

Rusty 08-09-2018 03:54 PM

Took the Z to work today. Boy.....did I get a lot of double takes. Everyone was checking out the canards. They would walk pass the Z and look at the front. Then spin their head around and look again. I don't think they know what canards are. :rofl2:

As you can see. I'm catching up on my reading.

Was working on the PowerWagon. Put a new Magnaflow muffler on it. And started replacing the bolts on the one skid plates with a 3/8-16 diameter stainless steel button head bolts. The bolts that are on there now are 10mm, with the head ground down from sliding over rocks. :D
