I am only ~30 miles from Lake Michigan. Usually have a breeze and pleasant temps. We had a few hot days this year but nothing unbearable.

madwi 07-28-2018 12:28 PM

It was probably low to mid 50s this morning

Rusty 07-28-2018 12:49 PM

It's 77 right now. Going out to cut the grass.

Gf wants me to take her to the Brand library in Glendale ... supposed to be a historic landmark *yawn*..:ughdance:

I think I'd rather watch the grass grow after you cut it right now.

JLarson 07-28-2018 01:01 PM

Pulling the carpet in the 300zx turned into a full interior part out. Nissan tucked the carpet all the way under the dash, no way to get it out without pulling way more than I anticipated. Wife will be glad though, she's been waiting for me to get that project done with.

I like going to some historic landmarks. Depends on the history of them.

Yeah, you think it's only going to take a couple of hours, ends up taking 2 days. :rofl2: Amazing how something so simple turns into a major project. :shakes head:

This is the first time I cut grass in 3 weeks. :icon14: I like to watch grass grew too, with something cold in my hand to drink.

I tried to teach my daughter to drive my one truck with a stick. The problem was that she couldn't reach the pedals. :rofl2: She's 5ft tall and couldn't move the seat up far enough. So she gave up on learning. :shakes head:

You sure you're not an Xennial? That's what they're calling the gap between Gen X and Millenials. 1975-85.

In this case I think it's accurate. My brothers, first sister, and I lived very different lives from the younger part of my family (9 siblings, basically spaced every 2 years. Youngest sister is 17 years younger than me)

If we have 7/8 days straight in the 90s that's brutal, not weeks in the triple digits :tiphat: to you my friend

It’s brutal. When you walk out in the afternoon it feels like you got hit in the face with a 2x4. Not unusual to have it be 90 well after the dark.

Pintsize725 07-28-2018 06:50 PM

Me: I really need to lose weight.

Also me: *Sits on couch entire day and only ventures out for a burger*

How is everyone else's Saturday?

Years ago. I worked in the gulf at a nuke plant. Wake up, take a shower. Tried to dry off and couldn't. Stayed wet all day. I was miserable. If you laid a tool down. You had to cover it up. Other wise you would burn your hand when you picked it up.

Yup. When your sweat has nowhere to evaporate to cuz of the humidity.

bunk 07-28-2018 07:10 PM

A little trick to keep a water bottle from getting too hot to drink on a hot day: take a sock (preferably clean), wet or and slip the water bottle in the sock.

My gf grew up in the former Soviet union. She always comments how cheap and disposable things are here.. even the so called quality products. Her mom told her that they still have the chess set from when she was a baby. Made of solid wood. They were poor, but what they had would really last.

You sound like my daughter. She does crossfit.

Had breakfast and watched Netflix. Cut the grass. Had dinner, and watching Netflix.

When I was at Lake Powell in June. It was in the low 100's. You couldn't feel yourself sweat. Talk about drinking lots of water.

When I was overseas. We either cooled our beer off with a CO2 fire extinguisher, or put it in a 5gal jerry can full of gasoline in the morning.
