The fact that I had to sand down the helper spring bolt for the clutch, my front bumper is misaligned, the battery cover has plastic dremeled out, and something rattles in the hatch should prove my car blows to work on.

These are plastic but I think you can order them with alum. mounts.

Pretty sure the car was in a front end collision and was either repaired without an insurance claim or carfax never updated the listing. The car was clean when I ran a report during purchase. But I am just noticing more and more small things that make me think things were done to it in a halfassed manor.

I'll look into it. Pretty sure I'd want to massage that mounting bracket for a bit cleaner fit. But I'm funny that way

That could very well be right. Certainly not the first time that would have happened.

I'm honestly considering just trading it in for a newer sport model. Wondering if I can get something for what i am paying now.

Mine is under warranty. I wonder if I could bring it to the dealership and have them look at the front bumper, alignment issues with the hood and fenders, the gap between the headlights and bumper, and the dremeled battery cover.

I suspect that wouldn't be covered under warranty but it's definitely worth exploring.

These hoods are easy to align, I've not messed with the fenders but typically aren't too difficult even if a tab that they bolt to needs to be massaged somewhat for a proper fit. The only real adjustment for the bumper cover is the extension that protrudes off the road cradle. Even by yourself it's all very doable just takes a little time and patience.

And perhaps a bit of cursing!

I wasn't dissing your install at all. Thinking more of the shape of the mounting bracket itself. Can see where it has angular lines where they should be softly rounded to match up with Orem bits; that sort of thing.

It probably is something that you'd be blind to almost as soon as your done, but don't want to end up with a fit and finish like an Evo either

Gotcha. I am kinda anal about spacing and as I was taking pics I noticed they need adjusting. I was too lazy to fix it though lol.

From what I saw when installing the front lip. The left headlight housing bracket was misaligned. When you push hard against the headlight, it becomes flush with the hood, but the bolt holes won't stay aligned to keep it in place. But when you push it to align with the hood, the bottom of the headlight is leaving a gap from the top of the front bumper. I can't readjust the light bracket without removing the fender with is misaligned with the top of the hood. None of which is really visible unless you know what to look for. But it's always in the back of my head that the car is flawed from some shady business in the past.
