You need to surf Engadget Mobile more lol. There are phones coming, but I wouldnt even consider buying a new one unless it has 4G, or a dual core processor...LTE Androids will be coming soon. Right now, you have just about as good as you're going to get...

December I would say Droid X, not much of anything better will be out by then.
Verizon launches its LTE network at the end of the year but the phones will be a few months behind that. I know a few phones are set to have Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) but no ETA yet has been given.

On Verizon? Early 2011 is the launch date for Verizon.
On other networks, they have launched and I have no experience yet with them.

Could be my next Android. There are certain things with my Droid Incredible that do and don't like. I had a LG EnV Touch before, and I really enjoyed that phone and some of the LG features. Will have to wait and see. Battery life is NOW always a top concern with Android OS.

I hate LG phones, but the specs on that phone are so impressive.

Dude the X is amazing, I dont know how you could be tired of it. Only reason Im tired of my Droid 1 is because the processor in it is slow as ****.

mine slowed down alot with the froyo 2.2 update, i wanted to upgrade. so i overclocked it and it seems to be fast enough to not want to upgrade (yet).

i bought mine the first week it came out, about a year ago. it seems so old now. :mad:

I just picked up a Droid 2 last weekend and it rocks. I love the faster processor and the revised keyboard is nice.

yea, noticed this with my girl's phone last week. how come the station for the droid 2 (on the package) costs so much more now?? makes no sense at all :shakes head:

The Droid 2 docking station has a removable insert so you can dock a phone with most cases on it.

oh... definite advantage, i gave up on my hard case because i got tired of taking my phone in and out of it everyday to put it on the docking station, that makes sense i guess.

Yeah, I don't use a case so it doesn't matter to me, but my sister wants a case and docking station for Christmas so I am going to buy the Droid 2 docking station and one of those Seidio Innocases.

Z Boot Animation for Android
 

Figured this Droid thread might be a good place to put this since Android & 370z fans might be interested in it. I tossed together a custom bootanimation.zip for Android. It basically is a 370z-style Z logo that fades in and then blinks like the front fender indicators as Android loads. If you have a rooted phone you can push the zip file to /system/media on your phone using adb or Root Explorer to replace the current bootanimation.zip. Recommend backing up the current /system/media/bootanimation.zip so you can restore it if you need it. I've tested this on an HTC Magic 32B (T-Mobile MyTouch 3g) running CyanogenMod 6.1. If try it let me know what you think.

I would rank the Nexus S above the Droid X purely on specs and the fact Nexus S gets Honeycomb (the new OS) first.
Though the Droid X is still a very good phone.

Ok....I have and have had an android phone for quite a while. I am very technical with gadgets and my phone is rooted (or jail broken for you iphone people). Both phones have pros and cons. Iphone has more aftermarket support and is good. Android comes with FREE nav app and Iphone does not (you have to BUY it on Iphone). Also, battery life is about equal BUT with droid phones you can switch to a replacement battery and Iphone you can not (the battery is internal and not removable). I have the Nexus 1 and its a great phone. Like cars, with smart phones you get what you pay for (more money usually = better phone).
