I am a Motorola Droid fan

But recently I've been really interested in the HTC Evo. It's beautiful! If only this phone had a Motorola logo.

they do, it's called the Droid X

The thing about the Bionic is its dual-core 1Ghz processor...should be first one to market.

If you like the EVO, then the Thunderbolt should be your next phone, which is an updated version of it for VW.

LG has a couple of good looking Androids too...of which they are supposed to have a dual-core as well, but no mention of that in the specs for these two.

Actually, it's the Optimus 2X that is also dual-core, but is for T-Mobile.

I've seen one of these and it's ok... just the phone is freakin huge... Its even bigger than my X which almost makes it too wide to hold. No thanks. :ugh: Not to mention Sprint... :wtf2:

XwChriswX 01-18-2011 03:32 PM

Hey guys, has anyone else running Android had a problem recently downloading updates?

Mine all of a sudden doesn't want to download updates... I've been on 2.2.1 forever and haven't had problems... until now.

I've tried clearing the market cache, restarting numerous times, booting without my SD card... nothing seems to work. Anyone else had this problem or know of a good solution??

HKYStormFront 01-18-2011 03:35 PM

sometimes mine does that too, i think it's an issue with the market itself

Trips 01-18-2011 03:42 PM

No problems here?

kenchan 01-18-2011 03:47 PM

mines a droidx and no issues... (?)

XwChriswX 01-18-2011 03:50 PM

I'm reading on some droid forums other people are having problems too and the standard fixes aren't working...

It's kinda irritating. Grrr lol

Are you running Android 2.2.1?

So I got a droid 2 global a couple months back. I finally rooted it (mostly to get rid of the bloatware), but before I did any modifying, I saw that we can't download the new gingerbread update with a modified phone. Since gingerbread isn't available to me yet, I guess I have to wait. Am I understanding all of that correctly?

Trips 06-30-2011 09:27 PM

I'm coming back to Android hopefully tomorrow? I'm kinda lost as to whats the latest going ons with os versions. Sorry I couldn't help Frost :(
I did find this though

Latest rumor...July 28th.

Theory: delayed long enough so if you come in as a new customer, you have to get ont he new two-tiered payment scheme that kicks in July 8. The 28th keeps you from bringing back another phone in the 14 day no questions asked window and get the Bionic under the old plan :tinfoilhatSmilie:

MightyBobo 07-01-2011 01:31 PM

My money is still on the Samsung Function. But, we'll see how the Bionic turns out.

That is how it always with Android it seems.
We finally get an update and the new one is released, but takes forever to get the next. I might be going back to an iPhone in Sept/Oct depending on how the new one is updated.

That's not the fault of android, right? From my understanding, the delays come from the providers, like motorola, tweaking the android OS to be what they want it to be. That right?

Correct, but it falls on the fault of Android is suppose to be 'open.' Yet by doing so it lets these companies play with it causing large delays and even ruining the operating system.

You use the browser that came with the phone, or did you switch over to chrome for android, or other?

I do not browse with my phone (use my iPad mostly), but if I do I just quickly use the built in browser.
Usually I just pull up a random Google search quickly or the traffic website.
