Might it just be easier to spice into the factory wiring pre Molex? Thinner wire could still be ok with such a short run.

Yeah, I would guess if you stay at or under 50W RMS no need to run new cable.

This video helped me a lot if you decide to do it though.

Yep, I ripped that series to my desktop. Good info. I'm going to be RMSn' around 80, so I was doomed to digit damage from the get-go.

That does not sound fun. I feel you though. I spent all day yesterday fixing some paint damage/surface rust in the rear wheel wells on the DD. Started at 9am, finished at 11:30pm (waiting for paint to dry). Man I hate body work that's for sure and the felt liners had so much dust/dirt/grime embedded in them I had to wear a mask. Glad it is finally done. Once the clear coat fully cures I'll give it a good buff.

I will say that the paint I received from Automotive touch up is top notch. My car is a tri-color pearl white so I figured it wouldn't blend the best, but I was wrong. Had it out in the sun today and the match is perfect! If anyone is looking for a good paint for diy projects give this place a try.

kenchan 08-08-2015 12:59 PM

You guys in canada dont have simple green? there's a bimmer tech that states he dont know wat it is.. WTF? :ugh:

madwi 08-08-2015 01:01 PM

Finished speakers in the doors! Door panels on, trim panels reinstalled. Ran out of speaker wire to wire the tweeters  Oh well, If I become unstuck from the lazyboy chair I will go to the store.

I will have to keep that in mind! The DD silverado is starting to rust in a few normal places and I need to take care of it before it becomes a major issue.

Good afternoon all :tiphat:

Back from Houston. Had a nice inurnment and celebration service for my grandmother yesterday.

Unfortunately, my parents had their house broken into while they were gone. Must have been amateurs or high schoolers. Very few items were missing. They took cheap high school rings with far more sentimental than actual value that were sitting right next to a box of my grandmother's silver that probably has a five figure value in total. Good news for because I am inheriting the formal silverware set. Contractor was already over there this morning to fix the door that was busted in.

Yeah I read all the threads and then re-read them once in the garage :icon17: getting the wire through the rubber and plug wasn't bad, getting the plug back into place sucked major Donkey D.

That totally sucks. :shakes head:

We had that happen a few years back and even though insurance covered everything, it still sucked to see my wife that uncomfortable in our own house, like they were coming back any minute. ADT solved that problem, though.

. Takes about 7-10days to get it but they mix it up and you can even get it in aerosol cans. MUCH better than anything you get retail.

Good luck with the repairs. Easy but very time consuiming. I got impatient towards the end so my paint isn't as clean as it could've been before I cleared. But I'm picky. My wife couldn't even tell where I painted so most people won't know!

Hopefully those scum bags get what they deserve

So I was too lazy to go to the store for speaker wire. Stole it from my home system that I rarely use :icon17: 16 gauge to the doors and 12 gauge to the tweeters :rofl2:
