It will never go down... You have OPEC, National energy Policy and words right out of the Energy secretary's mouth that he wants higher prices.. Our commander in chief's words and policy...A few Hurricanes, A flood, A reptile that needs saving in the Permian Basin in Texas. Refineries closing for maintinence. Rinse, wash, repeat.

We do not buy these cars for MPG, but for the fun factor...

Steps to saving on gas.

1. Live in Florida near a Winn Dixie (maybe other southern states, but I'm not sure which ones have booze in grocery stores and allow these types of deals)
2. Get a Winn Dixie discount card
3. Become an alcoholic
4. Buy all your booze at Winn Dixie Liquor Store and pay attention to the gas discounts.
5. Fill up at Shell
6. Get drunk. You'll need to go through a lot of alcohol to accumulate another good discount before your next fill up.

I usually have at least .50 saved up. You get discounts from regular grocery items as well, but for liquor sometimes you'll see up to .50 off per gallon. After some family visited a month ago and we went through a large amount of tequila that was .20 off per gallon I had -1.75 saved up. Cheapest fill in quite some time.

Yesterday without the discount was $3.88 for 93 at Shell.

^^^^^ Try putting the alcohol directly into the gas tank. See if you get bigger savings. If my areas gas goes up to the California $5 range that's coming, Ill consider your plan. A very intelligent plan....

last time I got gas at a station down the street was a week ago and it was $4.02/gal for 91.

yesterday it was $4.07/gal and it jumped up to $4.17/gal this morning.

the owner of this station has a habit of preemptively raising prices at any oil news provocation.

Feels like it's going up every day. High gas/oil price will cause higher food, electric, heating, transporting, etc, etc prices, ..... Its good that someone cares/watches out for the poor & mid-class Americans.

After I saw your octane I googled California octane ratings. Didn't know 91 was the highest you can get. 93 would be higher price. If a car needed 93, wouldn't performance & gas mileage suffer with 91? I don't get it.
