What does it mean by "Rep Power"?

What does it mean by that? Why is mine still 0 after all this time and after over 40 posts? Yet I see some members with a rep power of at least "1" and they only have 4 posts and they just got here less than a week ago. Why is that?

You see the little icon to the left that looks like scales? (Right next to the green dot.) Click on it, and if you approve of someone's post, you can use this icon to let them know. That's called giving rep. Your rep power is a combination of how many positive approvals you get from other forum members and how many posts you have. It's a way of encouraging people to contribute positively to the forum.

Ease up guys, he's just asking how it works. And I have to admit, I am a little curious as to why his rep is 0, because new members start out with a rep of 1. Check out the new forum member section. Brand spanking new members have a rep of 1.
