I wonder if something like the 75mm kit that I found from NWP could work as well.

2 75mm TBs from them are only $130 a piece.

Are you sure that it bolts on to VQ37 plenum?

I get it but don't see the point. Why have a huge TB if the manifolds gonna stay small? That bottle neck can't be good. now if this spacer is long enough with a nice taper, that could speed the air up some and help. But a spacer matching the bigger TB then having the back side be larger than the manifold hole is going to be horrible for flow as the air will hit a lip.

What really needs done is machine the manifold completely removing the gasket ring section so the holes 75-80mm. Then siliconing or getting enough gasket to hold tight on the flat surface of the spacer and manifold. Then it'll be a smooth transition being true all the way through. But with that much air will our motor be able to take it? Where will the power curve move to?

Here's the whole thing looks like:
IMG_3351.jpg

Part numbers:
IMG_3352.jpg
IMG_3353.jpg

With the spacer installed:
IMG_3354.jpg

From this angle, you should see that when we talk about the area of the throttle body, the real cross section ares is not pi x r^2. It has to subtract the butterfly valve part, which means the total area is a lot less. Look at the end of the spacer, the area is not blocked by the butterfly valve at all, which makes the area almost the same with the area from the bigger throttle body.
IMG_3355.jpg

I know this is not the ultimate design yet, which is why my new upper plenum is in prototyping already, to pair with this 80mm throttle body.

My dyno just arrived not too long ago and I'm still installing it. I'll get a dyno sheet soon.

Nice so it does taper right? Looks that way. 80 down to the manis opening at 62mm? All thats needed now is go bigger . Port the TB, bigger butterfly, thin the butterfly shaft and install flat head screws vs these large round ones. PS i know a guy

It's still in prototyping stage so not final yet, but it's designed to optimize and balance air flow for each cylinder, kind of like what ITB does. It's specifically designed for N/A application, since all the ones I've seen now are for turbo cars.

My sample manifold is almost ready, but the cost is crazy. Still trying to see if there's other ways to cost down, otherwise it'll probably be a one off plenum.
