Anyone else have this problem? Stillen Intake...

Well I am glad at the least I was able to bring this to other peoples attention before it became a problem for them. Unfortunately Im gonna learn the hard way to the tune of $350+ dollars...lol! Oh well, I sent the pix to Stillen anyways just to hope that maybe it will help some how.

Yeah let us know how that conversation with stillen goes...I have had 2 discussions with them about issues with the intake and i can some up their end of the conversation in one word....DISINTEREST......

oh but you need to buy our exhaust was the next words out of their mouths.

at the least they can put a warning notice on their instructions for future customers so others don't go through this experience and expense.

Stillen has it in their installation instructions.

Someone missed a step.

Thanks Kannibul, for clearing it up for everyone that's had it done they can adress it before it's an issue and for folks like me ready to pull the trigger on it don't skip step 12 lesson learned got it.

Taping the AC tube will not protect it against the rubbing and eventually it will rub through. There should be no contact against any part in the engine compartment IMO.

things are going to touch. Even if it touches after its wrapped with a quality product you wont have any problems.

That's why I'd use something substantial like heater hose, and inspect it after a good chunk of miles...like 25K to check on the air filters.

My kit came with hose to cut and wrap the ac lines with, even had tie wraps.
Then again real men don't read instructions.

Well I solved the problem.

I went to my local autozone and purchased 2 feet of heater hose for $1. I cut a slit all the way down the hose so I can wrap the AC line.

I ended up cutting the hose in 3 pieces because there are clips holding the AC line in place at certain points.

I also zip tied the hose towards the frame and away from the intake. Should have ZERO problems now!
