Best power, fitment, and affordability: Nismo "take off" exhaust, w H-pipe

For more power add any of the following:

1. ebay or other non-resonated test pipes - cheapest, but also most raspy and not very eco friendly...

2. Any resonated test pipe - more expensive, much less raspy, and as above.

3. The infamous ART pipes - much more expensive, sounds good, a bit more power, and as above.

4. Various High Flow Cats - slighly less power, varying degrees of rasp depending, and more eco nicey nice...

5. Various long tube headers (my personal recommendation = PPE). Much more power, good sound and modest rasp (varies), and there's no way to stop the tides from rising at this point anyway... (or weld in a cat somewhere if you wish/must).

Moral of the story: The OEM cats are the biggest restriction...

Also, changing the size of the OEM Y pipe pipe (not sure on the Nismo H if the diameter is changed from OEM...) generally results in a lot of additional "whooshing" noise on decel.

Good luck

Love my ART pipes...I'm planning on getting the motordyne exhaust next year to complement it

I've noticed several people getting the ART pipes before an exhaust, why? The ART pipes are just test pipes right?

Just get AAM's midpipe and short tails, carry on a nice convo until 3.5k, then put your headphones on and scare the **** out of people when you floor it lol.
Seriously tho I've heard good things about AAM's true dual exhaust and I'm sure it's lighter than stock. But from what everyone says FI is the way to go, I might make the switch later on

yes, ART Pipes are test pipes but it means Advance Resonated Test Pipes....the reason most ppl go test pipes first, as a few ppl have mentioned it before, the CAT's are the most restrictive part of the exhaust.

What I like about the ART Pipes, one of the test pipes with the highest gains, at low rpms 3k or below it sounds almost like stock which is great for dd but once you push it pas 3.5k it sounds freaking great!! I just need the exhaust to complete it lol

They are nicely resonated test pipes that may take advantage of some cleverly sorted harmonics to make a bit more power than regular TP's -- I have seen a few dynos that indicate this.

HOWEVER, they are pretty pricey. If you can pick up a set at a very good deal, I think it's an upgrade from regular resonated TP's.

On the other hand, if you don't care about rasp (and possibly running to the hardware store to find matching nuts and bolts...) and just want power, a set of ebay test pipes is pretty high on the bang-for-the-buck list.
